“Club costs only 5% more than other airlines’ standard Economy fares.”
How things change!

Good images!
The 70s Club typography and crown just makes me think of a cigarette brand!

I imagine the female passenger must have been the wife of one of the "businessmen", as she surely couldn't have been travelling on business herself - and didn't have her own copy of the Financial Times to read - unless she was smiling at something else in his lap .......

When did we all (I know, its not all) decide last on is less preferable to first on?

I remember them.

As a skint teenager I always flew in economy back then....which wasn't all that cheap.

I can't remember when I saw someone wearing a tie in Club the last time...

Indeed.
When Club back in the day was effectively a blocked middle seat and offered complimentary headset, menu cards and free drinks.... to todays version with Club Suite, lounge access and amenity kits..... hardly surprising it's moved on to more than a 5% uplift over Economy really.

Direct link to hand baggage becoming increasingly more massive?

I don't know... I quite like to unpack a few bit and pieces, settle down, steal as many air nozzles as I can before others sit down. Last on can be longer in a nice lounge; but it can also mean longer in a queue/gate chaos.

I remember my first flight in F on BA. It was early July 1991, LHR/JFK. I was working for an investment bank and was in F in my own right not, for example, as someone's wife, girlfriend etc. The man beside me leaned over and asked "Are you a career girl?". I smiled sweetly and asked him if he was a career boy.
