Perhaps.
MAN-LHR-JFK in CE/F would yield 500TP (40 + 210 each way), so once a month would give him 6000TP.
Might be a half decent amount of (work) spend, but not really a "frequent" flyer.
The average person though isnt going to reaching that, and i generally don't bother too much once ive hit a target threshold.
I do see some points of view.
I can do 3-4 TP runs and/or BA Holidays, hit the threshold for GGL, ideally as cheaply as possible, and then use the CCR on my cheap economy ticket. He could fly premium cabins, have 10x my TPs, yet be classed as exactly the same by BA.

But my point is really just that (unless we think he was bare-face lying) at some point BA considered him worthy of a regular escort, and then they didn't.
And at a human level, the easiest way to upset people is to give them something, and then take it away.
I, on the other hand, do not miss either my chauffeur or my secret service detail, because, I am deeply, deeply ashamed to admit on here, have never had them...!
DON'T THEY ******* KNOW WHO I AM...??!!

A 24/7 driver is very nice however! As I think when I splurge on an Uber Lux and pretend I’m not paying by the mile! 😁😁

[QUOTE=Red_01;34990574]Today in the CCR - some middle-aged chap with an unbearable sense of self-importance getting quite upset at the BA staff behind the counter, that he's not been picked up at all this year by the special services team and driven to immigration. Apparently they used to do that for him on every flight pre-pandemic.
Perhaps BA could purchase a used mobility cart and pimp it up a bit as VIP transport for the self-important to ride in style from aircaft door to immigration past all of us plebs who walk.

Been there, done that & got the T-shirt.
Well, of course BA did just that pre-Covid. Not sure I’d describe the golf buggy BA used as pimped up, but it was a service I used a couple of times.

Self-upgrader on my ZRH-LCY right now. He saw 5C/D empty and just sat in there until the people whose seats it was got the FA who checked and sent him and his cabin luggage to his rightful seat in row 9 - not even that far down so a bit pointless. There's 6 rows of CE on the flight.

Had a man walk directly in front of us in the First/Gold queue last night at EWR because obviously we couldn't possibly have been GCH or travelling in First. Unfortunately for him we were both. He looked rather sheepish when our eyes met on the flight. He'd been making a point about asking at check-in about the F facilities in the airport (which we know there are few other than the pleasant F dining, which for some reason he never found).
My husband was rather annoyed and the otherwise delightful lady at the check-in desk apologised for not reprimanding him.

And I very much agree with the general feeling on Mr Important who wasn't quite as important as he thought he was....

Hit 8k+ TPs with the bulk on BA metal and you may well find yourself on the path to a 98 CIV and the C gate transfers, etc. that (sometimes) come with it. But if your travel drops off the following year you WILL drop back to 97 (assuming you keep GGL). I assume this is what happened to the chap in the story above.

Isn't this the point of airline status, though? Just because you attain something for one year, doesn't entitle you to it again the following year if you haven't met the retention criteria.
