Dinner & Breakfast menus from my BA32 HKG-LHR, departure 23.00 last Friday 24/3. Lengthy sector at 14hrs 50mins, with 100% load across all cabins (hence why the route is due to revert to double-daily imminently)

Given time of departure, I had eaten dinner in HK prior to heading to the airport, and so the starter of duck breast (pleasant enough) followed by the light main of prawn & scallops (most enjoyable) proved more than adequate, with my priority being to snag a good few hours sleep.
I did also have a plate of fruit later into the flight, and a coffee around an hour or so before landing.

I tend not to bother too much with alcohol on night flights but thought a glass of Pouilly-Fuissé would go well with the scallop dish …… only to be told apologetically by my very friendly FA that - after a thorough search - “it seems it has not been loaded” A similar fate befell the asparagus element of the side dish which arrived with potato wedges and baby carrots ….. but without asparagus (“not loaded, sorry about that”).
The missing items, whilst not spoiling my journey, did strike me as rather odd ; but then again I have over the years learnt to manage expectations in BA-land, not least when in F. Hey ho.

Flew LHR to ORD yesterday in the (very dated) A380 F. For clarity, my last 4 flights have all been in Club Suite which, in my opinion, unless you love fine wine, is now an upgrade on the dated F. I even prefer the cut glass glassware in J!

I didn't take a shot of the menus - same as others have posted from UK to US.

I will say though, the crew member serving me was very lovely, but she borderline poisoned me with a G&T. I drank it, she offered another, went straight to my head. Asked how much gin she'd put in the glass: half a glass. Half?! Asked for more tonic for the second. But that was in, alcohol/drinks over as they were so strong I struggled even talk properly after that. Had food, bit of a kip, ok after, but even so...!

The beef tataki starter. Had the chicken for the main. Crepes for pudding - decent but smaller than I expected.

Sorry if this has been asked. Is there a window of time for tea service on flights to the USA for afternoon tea service. For example, there are early flights to JFK and late flights to JFK and IAD. I don't get the opportunity to fly BA first often and would like to experience the full afternoon tea service if possible. Thanks.

Above images and menu from recent LHR-BOS in First on the 777-200ER. I should point out that I didn't have this all to myself - mrs-so3003 and junior-so3003 were also eating 🙂

Soup was very enjoyable, lamb was surprisingly good, the light meal cheeseburger defeated me!

Child meal was a fairly good effort and think I'd order that for my son again

I had both these on my F flight to ORD on Tuesday. Thought both disappointing. Chicken was nothing special, just chicken with some veg. The mouse is just a basic chocolate mouse with lots of strawberries on top. Not F at all, for me.

LHR-MEX (787-9) First - 1st April

Great food and lovely crew who were friendly and chatty, made sure glass was never empty. BA on Form

Canapés / Starters / Mains. Ordered Smoked Salmon ans Prawn Linguine with a side of vegetables.

Followed by cheese and passion fruit tart.

Second service. Ordered Waldorf salad and burger, could manage anything else!

Canapés we’re lovely as usual.

Very nice salmon starter, sauce is good.

Pasta well cooked, prawns not too tough either.

Tart was delicious, very tangy

Excellent cheese selection, has to be done with port!

Waldorf salad was lovely, very light

Earl grey tea

Burger was ok, meat wasn’t nicest, bit dry. Saved by chutneys

Vegetarian but without the mushroom

Hello all,

I am flying to MEX in a week.
I can see that the vegetarian dishes on the F menu contain mushroom.

If I preorder a VLML special meal, is it always the same as what is on the menu, or is there a chance that the vegetarian special meal will be different?

Thanks for your reply in advance.
