At this stage if BA won't offer you anything on the phone - I can see some availability on a few AF evening flights for CDG-LHR, then book the eurostar yourself and claim the cost back. There is some eurostar availability this evening. Do not cancel your BA booking.

EDIT: BA is all zeroed out today so I don't see any point trying to push for a seat on a BA flight.

Yes some seats on VY to ORY-LGW on the 2150 flight. Nothing on U2. Same principle, book yourself and claim back - but tbh I would go for eurostar.

The return BA441 (which I was also on) was delayed by more than 3 hours as well.

Could someone tell me what official reason was recorded for both delays, please?
BA 440 WO 0016 DF 0220 PS 0010 AMZ 0012

BA 441 RA 0218 GC 0017

The 440 was primarily delayed by due to damage during flight ops which fits with what you were told. It was also delayed due to the weather at LHR, subsequent ATC start up delay and some sort of passenger issue.

The return was reactionary delay, but it appears that the cleaning teams were late too.

But there may be more complexities there (crew out of hours?). Cancelled at 19:15.

Water from the storm managed to get into the avionics bay. Not a very good day for that aircraft.

Yes. Booked Eurostar. The only seats left are business premier at £326. I assume this will be gladly paid.

I am currently rebooked on a flight tomorrow which I am clearly not gonna take. I told the CS person NOT to cancel my flight so they are still on the hook for duty of care and ec261.

So a couple of questions.

Do I let the booking lapse by not showing up? Or am I supposed to do something else at this stage (besides filling in the forms) to ensure refunds of Eurostar and transport to and from stations?

Is ec261 valid as I arrive more than three hours late but in Kings Cross. How does this play out?

Leave the BA booking for the moment, in due course it will get wrapped up in the process. Sometimes BA pays it out without asking you, and then makes a secondary payment for the train. More rarely it doesn't refund the original service (I think it's untidy at the BA end leaving pending bookings) but instead makes a single payment for everything.

If the St Pancras International timing is more than 3 hours from the flight time then you can claim EC261. If it's under then you can't but arguably that's EC261 working correctly by minimising the delay.

Thanks. The actual refund of the ticket isn’t for me as the client paid for it. I should let them know what has happened so they should chase it up.

Definitely arriving into London St Pancras more than three hours after the scheduled arrival into LHR. So I will claim on that basis.

Could someone please tell me the reasons for the cancellation today of BA 319 and BA 309, both CDG-LHR. Thanks.

I'm trying to find the delay code on Expert Flyer for BA2619. Can someone point out to me where (if at all) it's shown on the flight comments? Thanks!
