Monday 25 September

I'm not sure I believe this since we know today is going to be busy for arriving passengers plus a bit of weather around e.g. in Belfast. But so far flights are landing and departing on time and no short notice cancellations from BA yet. A couple of AA cancellations to CLT and JFK. It may just be a data feed error. But as things stand 337 departures from LHR today.

Quick update on this one, I applied yesterday for compensation (ba314 was 90 minutes earlier than ba316) and was told just now that I would get 220. Very fast response! I thought it might be WEAN but obviously not.

So anyone on cancelled BA316 on 20/09/2023 should put a claim in.

Yes, I've got that happening at 16:00 hrs, it was due out at 17:05 from A17, a 789 right under Flounge, but very late in the day. The only one of the day, so far.

Was due to be on BA463 MAD > LHR on 24th which was cancelled via email on 23rd, anyone have info on reason ?
I needed to be home for work so was re booked on LH via FRA by an excellent customer service rep on phone . Had to be 1hrs 55 mins earlier which I assume that would be eligible for EU261 after the Dec 21 ruling ?

Potential Gatwick Cancellations due to COVID

BBC News reporting cancellations being planned for this week/Friday, 29th.

A total of 82 flights (= 3% of flights) to be cancelled but nothing specific yet re BA and its across various airlines so fingers crossed it doesn't affect too many flights and EasyJet passengers will be most affected apparently.

Gatwick will cancel around 82 departures over the coming week because of Covid and other short-term sickness in the air traffic control tower.

Airport boss Stewart Wingate said he was "very frustrated" by a series of problems at Gatwick's air traffic control.

The largest number of cancellations will be on Friday 29 September, with 33 departures affected.

No cancellations are expected for Tuesday or Saturday.

The cancellations amount to around 3% of planned departures at Gatwick over the period.

I'm sure somebody will be along to confirm, but that looks very likely!

Does anyone know why the BA007 HND this morning was cancelled?

I'm flying on the BA007 HND tomorrow (27th) and it's already been set to delayed (saying it's due to another late plane).
I've got to set off on my journey down to Heathrow today, and stay over night, so i'm hoping it still runs (even if delayed) - especially because I was meant to fly on the now cancelled BA007 on Friday 22nd!

A lot of detail in this thread, but the short version is that after Russia's invasion of Ukraine this route is operationally very difficult and resource intensive, so given the Joint Business arrangement it suits BA to cancel some services when aircraft or flight crew are in short supply, and put people on JAL or Cathay. Due to crew already in Japan some services will have to operate to bring them home.

There's going to be a reduced flow rate tomorrow Thursday in response to Agnes, 40/60, from 4pm. This will usually result in slots / cancellations at some point. So no more than 40 inbounds per 60 minutes. The last time that happened a week or two back it was 30/60.

BA2692/2693 LGW - FAO - LGW 27th Sept

Waiting at Faro for the 2693 back to Gatwick. Seems that the inbound 2692 which was due to depart at 05.45 is still on stand so looking at a delay.

Does anyone have access to delay codes about why it might be late?
