It is indeed listed as INDN for the exact reasons as listed. I can’t see any other information related to this industrial action from eurocontrol but there is a NOTAM in effect….

METEO SERVICE MAY BE AFFECTED DUE TO INDUSTRIAL ACTION.
SIGMET AND AERODROME WARNINGS NOT AFFECTED.
INFORMATION GRANTED FOR FLIGHTS IN EMERGENCY SITUATION.
In such situations the operating airline’s Ops Manuals and their own policies take effect. The airfield is not listed as being closed from what I can gather, but if finnair won’t allow a flight to depart without MET and AIS provision at destination that’ll be the end of that exercise.

Yes this is a TECY as a direct sequential knock on from 564 being TECY. Claimable.

Does anyone know why BA 213 LHR-BOS cancelled today?
My daughter should have been on 0655 ABZ-LHR this morning to connect with it.
She woke up to find it cancelled in the app, no text or email.
Re-booked from ABZ at 1610 to connect with BA239, arriving BOS 5 hours 30 mins late.
TIA

Thank you for the reply. The people travelling managed to get booked onto the same flight number departing today. I only live 20 Min drive from Heathrow so didn’t incur too many costs.

I’m guessing that BA will try and wriggle out of paying compensation (although the people travelling will try and claim extra costs associated with the delay), is it possible worth arguing this point given the delay seems to be associated with BA/Finnair’s inflexibility, given no other flights into OPO were cancelled yesterday?

Apologies, but I checked the list in post 1 before asking, as FCR isn't listed there.

In that case I should apologise. I think I probably edited them out when making another change, but FCR and CCR are now back.

Thanks in advance

Any idea why BA1304 was cancelled today. No seats on any other flight to ABZ today, apparently.

Are those all on the day cancellations or do they include the proactive timetable thinning cancellations announced some weeks ago?

We’ve only been looking at a couple of on the day cancellations for the last few weeks.

Unfortunately doing a scrape off ba.com/flightstatus will throw up flights cancelled a long time ago, and flights which were not opened up to booking (so no-one should be affected). However today there are a heck of a lot of cancellations.

Thursday 17 August 2023

These I know to be short notice cancellations which did have bookings on them:
BA173 JFK - B77W
BA279 SJC - B799
BA1498 GLA
BA558 FCO
BA994 BER
BA229 BWI - B788
BA568 LIN
BA223 BNA - B788
BA836 DUB
BA396 BRU
BA962 HAM
BA546 FCO
BA346 NCE
BA712 ZRH
BA1340 JER
BA1304 ABZ
BA456 MAD
Which leaves 319 operating departures from LHR.

16 August Update
Late cancellations for
BA916 FRA
Which Is suspect is curfew related.
BA121 CVG - B788
BA1488 GLA

Just found out my flight tomorrow (Aug 18 - BA662 - LHR to LCA) was cancelled. No notification or anything. I found out by sheer luck and managed to book BA0620 which is just an hour earlier. Not the worst but still not ideal. I had paid for a specific seat (1A) on the original flight. I called BA and they've told me I am in 5F for this new flight. Will I be able to get a refund for the seat selection fee? Am I entitled to any other compensation?
