On board Captain initially said waiting for ATC Clearance, later changed to Flight Planning Issues - also notable that boarding didnt start until T-15 so departure was never going to be on time.
Listed as a 30 min reactionary delay due to the late inbound aircraft (possibly due to inbound holding) and 13 minutes due to checkin errors with mis swipes of passports. Departed LHR 43 mins late.

Listed as OPEY and due to the AMS jet ban.

A null report today, I don't have any BA cancellations reported today, and only one other cancellation at LHR, in this case Ethiopian. BA has 327 departures from LHR today.

See post 1. The Y means yes to compensation.

Thanks, but muddies the waters more - the aircraft (BA219) arrived in Denver around 20 mins ahead of schedule - personal observation and confirmed by Flightradar 24. Its so annoying that a relatively small delay back into LHR led to me being over 5 hours late at final destination.

BA226 August, 12 2023

Hello, short question: can somebody check the delay reason? Agent said due to incoming aircraft and staff arriving very late (they arrived at original departure time). I missed my onward connection, resulting in 4+ hour delay and I want to claim compensation for that.

BA226 ATL-LHR 120823

Thank you!

My apologies, I gave you data from the wrong UTC day. It was a long day yesterday. So yes, the flight arrived (thats on the gate, parking brake set) 2 mins late. So there is a 2 min reactionary delay. There a few minutes allocated due to a sub turn which means not having the normal allocation of time scales to complete certain tasks, but the most significant delay reason is 21 minutes due to a flight plan issue. The flight left 28 minutes late and arrived at LHR 24 minutes late. Id imagine you had been proactively rebooked, did you have a rebooking email or text from BA dated/times prior to your arrival on the gate at LHR?

BA226 ATL-LHR 120823

Thank you!

The 226 departing on the 12th (US time) was delayed 42 minutes in departing due to the late inbound aircraft from Heathrow. 227 of the 12th that became 226, G-YMMI, was delayed out of LHR due to a ground equipment failure and cargo issue. The crew were for 226 were likely given a delayed pick up time to maximise the available flight duty period. 226 arrived 45 mins late into LHR.

Thank you, appreciate your help. No unforeseen or out of control circumstances here then. I missed my onward connection due to this delay, resulting in a 5,5 hour delay.

Sunday 13 August update
Not quite a clean sheet in the end, BA31 HKG which is an A35K and was cancelled late yesterday. Normally I'd expect it to be held overnight, which hasn't happened here, so I'm presuming that between BA and Cathay there was enough spare capacity.

Just one so far: BA1488 GLA.
BA has 327 departures from LHR today.

Hello, I hope its ok to ask this on here as I didnt want to start a new thread. For some while I have been keeping an eye on FR24 for LHR/JNB BA57 ETD 2125 regarding timings. We checked in last night for todays flight 14th Aug. I usually have a look at 0800 UK time and it has always shown the registration of the A380 - but not today. It just says 380. Ive seen comments about the shortage of long haul aircraft and am wondering if this is whats happening today and now, 4 hours later at noon there is still no aircraft info. Many thanks.
