Saturday 5 August 2023

Quite a few today, and with ATC and weather issues around there may be more to come. I would guess all of these below could be claimable.
BA548 FCO
BA356 NCE
BA640 ATH
BA726 GVA
BA392 BRU
BA1414 BHD
BA564 LIN
BA472 BCN (this often gets cancelled, usually 24 hours out. I do hope passengers spot the notification since it's often BA's first flight of the day - which presumably adds to the problem with getting resources).

After that, a relatively quiet Saturday, just 308 flights, presumably all fairly full though.

Is there a reason given for the cancellation of BA 2826 - LGW-AMS on Aug 15th? (I had the date wrong in my earlier post).

Ba0549 cancelled 05 Aug 2023

Anyone know the cancellation reason and code for BA0549 cancelled today (05 Aug 2023) from Rome to LHR (connecting to BA0189 LHR to EWR)? Friend traveling with 22 high school students beyond stressed about it and airline has been less than helpful. Thanks

Due to the incoming BA548 being cancelled.

BA382 today

What is the reason for the BA382 (LHR:MRS) being cancelled today?

TIA

Sunday 6 August 2023

Short notice cancellations for today from LHR, quite a few
BA217 IAD - B772
BA1492 GLA
BA944 DUS
BA410 IBZ
BA450 PMI
BA726 GVA
BA382 MRS
BA430 AMS
BA524 FLR

Plus on Saturday I see there was one extra late longhaul cancellation
BA181 EWR - B78X

I don't know the cause of the above but it's a lot more than other airlines' cancellations today so this is likely to be shortage of crew and/or aircraft. Florence is not weather on this occasion.

I finally have a ticket back to IAD; first BA 565 was cancelled Saturday and then BA 217 (my new connecting flight) was cancelled Sunday. I have been moved to a VS flight (no help from the app or call center), by a nice woman at Flight Connections in T5. So two questions (and if this is not the right place, feel free to point me in the right direction).

1. I will around 24 hours later than expected; does this qualify for EC261
2. Can I get ORC from BA (or should I talk to AA, from whom I purchased the ticket)?

Many thanks

Yes to both, and the correct threads are 1. the EC261 thread and 2. the ORC thread.

Thanks CWS. Am on train from Florence to Pisa now for my rescheduled trip back to LHR. Expertflyer isnít helping with the reason for the cancellation at the moment but itís good to know itís not weather.

BA340 6th August

Any idea whatís going on with BA340 today? Heathrow to Figari (FSC) in Corsica.

Guessing there was some weather as a Ryanair flight diverted to Bastia around the same time, but BA diverted to Nice several hours ago and seems incapable of flying on to FSC despite lots of flights landing since.

Scheduled departure from LHR of 11.25 and FR24 says onward flight to Figari is expected to leave Nice at 21.30 local time

guessing crew would have been out of hours to make return flight all the way to London (if not originally definitely by now!) but this just seems like terrible organisation. Insights welcome, thx

Just 2 today, both longhaul, I've not seen any shorthauls yet, maybe too early.
BA065 NBO - A35K - a rare choice for cancellation edit: won't be claimable.
BA193 DFW - A388
The latter will be equipment related and claimable. BA has 337 departures today as things stand.

BA 65 is due to the situation in Niger and listed as AIRN.

193 is TECY.

Weather diversion and night jet ban issue.
