Doesn’t look like any other flights have been cancelled. Looking at BA flights before and after there is nothing else.

worth submitting a claim…?
On the basis of ‘all reasonable measures’ it may well be. Entirely up to you to decide mind. I can understand why an AMS gets culled as opposed to a RAK, however the above still applies.

many thanks and makes sense.

Will do a bit of reading to understand 261 a bit better. It’s quite clear to me that they could have delayed the flight as others are still going out.

the decision to cancel (certainly in my mind) was because something needed to go.

I'd submit it on the basis that neither wind nor rain are extraordinary in England!

Wednesday 2 August 2023 update

Three on the day cancellations today
BA1458 EDI - WEAN, not claimable at least according to BA
BA402 BRU - probably claimable
BA181 EWR - probably claimable, B78X so I imagine crew or aircraft shortage.

BA 402 down as DAMN. G-EUUE came in from HAJ fine then lost all sectors assigned until today. (4th).

BA 181 TECY.

I can see that G-EUUE is due to operate BA732 to GVA today, ETD was 14:15 but it still hasn't taken off as of 17:10. Is this a knock on from the possible damage logged yesterday? (It's due to operate my flight to MAN later, but with a 3 hour delay and counting on the GVA rotation before it, I'm not feeling too optimistic...)

UUE has stepped in on the GVA to replace UYY which has gone ‘goose over stumps frog side’. The last minute aircraft change is the reason for the delays.

A whole week of BA256 and BA 257 cancelled at relatively short notice- LHR/Delhi.
Luckily I escaped Delhi a few days before it started. Seems unfair on others. Is this just a case of BA wanting to use the planes somewhere else more profitable? Seems like at least 50% of the pax on that route have onward connections to USA/Canada so not an easy one to cancel!

BA120 CVG-LHR Cancelled??

Hello All!

I'm flying this route in a couple of weeks and BA has me a little scared that I may miss my flight which will hinder my short trip severely.

Does anybody know why The July 30th and August 4th flights were cancelled?

I contacted BA about the July 30th and they had no answer for me. This is now the second cancelled flight in less than a week smh.

Thanks,

Welcome to Flyertalk and welcome to the BA forum.

I think these are the only 2 days which were cancelled since the service started. The reasons are being covered here:
FAQ : Reason for flight delay or cancellation - 2023 edition
and it's to do with in this case shortage of flight crew, the previous cancellation being shortage of aircraft. BA rotates cancellations around, with some services such as HND more at risk than others. CVG is not such a risk place and usually BA cancels around 1% of services daily.
