BA flight plan system down?
Sat in Boston waiting to board the 212, they are saying the 'flight plan system' is down globally so anything that's not in the air is stuck......saying minimum 30 mins before an update......I guess that's long enough for a reboot in a DC somewhere.......

I did wonder how long this would take to make FT given it is xmas week. Currently waiting on mine too. Been like this for the past couple of hours it seems. Fear not there are plans afoot, so to speak, the ‘nuclear’ fall back option takes time to generate as it is an entirely manual process. This is especially true on pond hops with associated Nat Track messages and ETOPS planning.

Given I'm not rushing anywhere at the other end I'm almost hoping for a 3hr delay and what will be my 7th 261 claim in as many weeks.....I could make a living out of flying BA at this rate.

I suspect (hope) the system issue will be fixed but I'd imagine there could likely be some knock on delays depending on how many aircraft are stuck at outstations and for how long.

Captain of the 212 just been back on.....no joy, been told next up date in 45 mins but no guarantee it'll fix it.
Not disembarking but he has told people they can walk around the plane and up and down the air bridge should they wish.....that's a new one on me!

JFK BA112 captain last update was 30 min ago, with no news of course. Doors still open here but no suggestions of stretching legs.
Our delay is 2hrs now, and it's 4hrs from the problem start if I recall correctly
