A Dram Good Find in Galleries South
Have been reliably informed that they currently have Talisker Surge in the South Lounge at T5, probably North too.
High Street RRP of £115 or available at Duty Free for £85 right now. This is a significant improvement on what they had in October.
Now if only BA could do a Scottish Malt Whisky Society promotion in the lounges.......

I don’t wish to be too much of a downer, but I am somewhat suspicious of named whiskies with no age statement at inflated prices these days.

A quick search shows its a travel exclusive and the spiel says:
"This whisky is a new core range product from the Talisker distillery on the western isle of Skye. Talisker Surge will be a travel retail exclusive. The new whisky is designed to show the elemental stormy forces that shape Skye and the Talisker distillery. Surge features whiskies of differing ages that have been matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks. The travel retail exclusive will be available in UK airports from September, before being released in Asia during October and Australia in December. There will also be a Talisker sample bar located in Terminal 5 at London's Heathrow Airport during October and November. Talisker Surge is bottled at 45.8% ABV and will cost £85/ €95/ $115 US per bottle."

Nice one- I was thinking we need a thread for Whisky gems found in BA lounges.
I found a 15 year old Highland Park in the BOS lounge (available for all; club/first didn't matter) which was excellent.
Currently re-stocking at home and have a Highland Park 21 and a Dalmore 15 arriving today if DPD get their act together!

Would strongly recommend a visit to the Talisker distillery if you ever get to the Isle of Skye. Excellent visitor centre and tour. Always surprising how many Dutch and German vehicle registrations are there as it is not the easiest place to travel to. Sailing there is magical.

I found Laphroaig (I think 10) in GF once, good times. Much better than the Singleton that seems to be the standard fare. I find Speyside whiskies so bland.
