Why is the BA board so active?
The BA board dwarfs other boards on FT by a considerable margin. The IB Avios changes on that board currently has 4 posts and 427 views whilst here on BA there are 90 posts and 8,500 views for a scheme that has yet to be finalised for the BA part of IAG. New posts disappear off the first page of the board within a couple of hours if there are no replies and I for one rarely look beyond that page. There may be gems on page 2, 3 or 4 missed!
Is there something peculiar about BA flyers or is it really the World's Best Airline with a huge international following?

In some ways we are the world's favourite airline. Murder? Yes. Divorce? Never!
There were some eye popping stats passed around internally a week ago. I don't think I can give the details but it's very much in line with the original post. It may be interesting to know why you don't want to leave the party so as to help develop the currently less popular fora.

I consider it to be at least three fold.
I think on this board we are fortunate to have members who are both knowledgeable and prepared to spend time giving responses. This does make it a first port of call for people especially considering how long it can take BA to respond.
In addition to the serious stuff there is also a more light hearted side to the board in the more humerous posts
Lastly as is noted the British like a moan and it's usually the small stuff that can cause the most ire. Yes I do look at myself here too.........

Being the predominant carrier in an English language country clearly explains a lot, as does the lack of alternative UK forums (sorry, c-w-s), unlike here in Oz where QF is largely discussed elsewhere. Also our Mods have a welcome much lighter touch on what can be discussed.
As c-w-s says, there's a carry-over love-hate relationship from when BA was the World's Favourite and I guess an optimistic culture which believes by complaining those days may return (though it does occasionally seem to verge on Stockholm syndrome when a non-Brit has the temerity to complain and the wagons soon circle in defence of our national icon!)

I think a lot of people on here despite all the moans and groans really want BA to do well and be the airline we all think it could be. Watching the whole thing play out is like passing the scene of an accident, people just can’t help but keeping looking back.
I am checking every day in hope of news on these wish list items…..
An overhaul of the app to match most other airlines.
Acceleration of the CS roll out.
Proper enforcement of Group boarding (it happened in EDI this morning)
F customers not put on a bus with everyone else.
Investment in local teams and lounges at outstations.
Etc!

British Airways attracts a lot of the British on this Board. This is an anglophone board and thus a lot are precluded linguistically.
The British complain about anything, everything, and complain when there’s nothing to complain about. As others have said, there is a level of humour which borders on lunacy based in irony and a love of the absurd that does not exist elsewhere. Apart from complaining, the British are the funniest people I have ever known with Australians a close second.
Now please excuse me whilst I moan to my husband to get to the Boulangerie as I want my breakfast.

...especially in adversity, which mystifies the rest of the world and for which BA currently gives much scope.

It makes me feel so much better about company-enforced mainly economy flying; you people always seem to be disappointed whereas I am almost never disappointed when I fly!
On a serious note, the AA, DL and UA boards seem to be equally busy, probably for exactly the same reasons, an anglophone board to discuss equally inconsistent premium offerings!
Conversely, I tried to engage the Korean Air board last year ahead of a trip there on QR which was eventually cancelled, about testing, K-ETA requirements and assorted COVID bureaucracy. I got nothing back, I think most of the contributors to that board were English speaking expats in Korea, and there aren't very many of those, and not all of those would be Korean Air flyers anyway.
