Champagne in B Gates Lounge is back in the kitchen.

Asked staff, ‘too much drinking & too expensive’.

So regular walks to the kitchen are back.

Pretty poor in terms of service continuity unless it is being enhanced away in galleries north and south too!

I don’t support this change, but champagne was ‘on request’ in LHR club lounges pre-Covid

So we won't even know what they are pouring us and calling champagne ...

So now Nicolas Feuillatte has been enhanced away

I didn't see any Champagne in LGW GC last week. It was early morning so I wasn't drinking but I noticed that while there were a decent selection of white wines, there was no fizz.

Not surprising. But, a very short sighted decision. Pity the poor lounge staff…

They should either make it available (in which case it should be accessible in the same way as all other beverages) or get rid of it entirely.

This half way house suits no-one. Staff have to fulfill an additional menial, time-consuming task; some passengers are in the know and others are not; and then when people come to realise what the set-up is, they will unavoidably see it for what it is: mini-spirited penny-pinching.

I have a funny feeling that the entire UK lounge set up is going to change radically in the not too distant future. enhanced, of course!
we have already seen mass changes at outstations.

It doesn't surprise me this has happened. Champagne seems to inspire people to drink copious amounts. When people chug 2 bottles a visit, cost probably adds up quick. With the cost of everything going up,. especially anything imported, I'm sure they'll be watching the numbers carefully, especially binge-friendly drinks like champers. It's only a hypothesis, mind.
