Suggestions For A Long Weekend

Guys, looking for some suggestions for a 3/4 night break in Europe that BA flies to around end of April.

Ideally looking for somewhere 2-3hrs from London that weather won’t be awful at that time of year. Not into art galleries but no issue with some culture. Good food & wine would be great too. To give you an idea, maybe somewhere similar to the old town in Palma or Granada or Bologna

Any ideas welcome

Hi,

How about Seville or Venice ( before the summer peak season). Florence or Pisa also

Regards

Zurich. Always overlooked but some excellent bars and restaurants, a pretty old town, the lake with the mountains in the background (and you can take the train up the Utliberg for some mountain scenery), plus the best chocolate in the world (buy some Teuscher champagne truffles on the way back).

Thanks for the initial replies guys.

We’ve done Florence & Seville but Pisa could be a good shout. Same with Zurich, never considered it.

For whatever reason I’ve no interest in Lisbon. We did consider Porto though

Jersey? Or too trivial for your requirements?

It's a culinary hotspot, mind. And the wine's decent enough

Its an amazing city for sure but, can have lousy weather.

How about Bilbao? Or Granada?

Scratch that. I see you have granada on your list. and not sure who flies to bilbao!

2nd edit. BA fly To Bilbao. Also Jerez perhaps for some sherry tasting!

Still no one asked the major question? Are you looking for a 80 TP or 160 TP destination? That would also be a driving decision... 🤨😉

Athens, Istanbul, Sofia, Bucharest all have plenty of good food, relatively cheap high end hotels and give you 160 TPs RT in CE...

In the 80 TPs, SZG (Salzburg) especially in Winter (are they operating again?) , KRK has a special place in my heart, BCN for sun and good food (with a side trip to Andorra for Ski time)

I would throw CTA (or PMO) into the mix, not so much for the cities themselves but the surroundings. Sicily is lovely!

You could do a lot worse than a long weekend in Porto. Soaking up the sun and ambience in one of Europes best preserved medieval old towns, not to mention the port wine with a dedicated tasting.... or just because. The city has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage city. The food scene is also taken very seriously and is generally outstanding wherever you happen to end up. I can thoroughly recommend a stay at The Yeatman which overlooks the city and the Duoro River and has the most amazing spa and infinity pool 👍
