BA - Gatwick

My LHR - Athens flight has been cancelled with BA offering me an alternative at 07:15 from LGW. How busy has LGW been recently and is it all fairly organised? Thanks

When is your rescheduled flight for? The next couple of days are set to be potentially tricky for LGW airport wide due to ATC sickness.

All departures from Gatwick tomorrow for all airlines as far as I can see looking to operate as scheduled. Hopefully the ATC sickness was a one off. Again late cancellations for unexpected operational and crew
reasons will sometimes occur. To be fair BA have not cancelled any flights for quite a while at Gatwick. (Both long haul and short haul). Hopefully I haven't put the 'mockers' on that by saying! Those that still appear as cancelled in the daily flight status were actually removed weeks ago (Manchester, Doha and Islamabad)
Doha is due to return to Gatwick when the winter timetable commences. Islamabad still appears in the timetable but is not bookable.
There does seem to be a delay in updating the online timetable at times as it does not agree with what is available when you come to book the flights.
I am not talking about LHR here as my main interest is LGW.

Gatwick checkin was quiet this morning at 10am. There is a First checkin desk within the Club Europe/World ‘enclosure’ with a separate queue roped off. Staff were pretty on the ball marshalling people to free desks.

I travel from Gatwick north a lot and it is always very efficient.

The issues I gather were atc related.

ba go from south but given it is generally a well organised airport I would personally not expect a problem. You fight is early which would then suggest even less of a chance of issues.

I've had quite a few flights from LGW South. Both on BA and Vueling. Not had any bad experiences.

That said I no longer am seeing bad experiences at LHR either since the cap was imposed.
