Duty Free
Last time I flew back on BA from Dubai I didn’t get any duty free at the airport as I thought I’d get it on board but they said they no longer do it.
How does this work then? I can purchase it on Highlife but when does it get delivered? Is it back on board or are there any plans in this direction? Otherwise I’ll just get it before departure but I used to prefer doing it on board to give the commission to the cabin crew.

I always feel sorry for the staff in the Tiffany / Gucci stores as they are now almost always deserted - I spent a few pounds there but now its simply much cheaper to buy in the EU.

Though I suppose with those prices, they only need to sell one handbag a month to make rent...

Apparently it gets delivered to your seat, I'll report back after Monday.

If you mean with 'Ill just do it before departure' that you buy in the terminal much please note that there isn't much (if any?) duty free as we knew it anymore in the UK (at least for the Guccis/ Tiffanys/ etc of the world). I don't buy alcohols or cigs but I believe - someone please correct me - the price of these goods is just slightly cheaper but not actually duty free.

I buy duty free cigarettes for my elderly mother’s neighbour for all the help she gives her. Two cartons (our joint allowance) comes to £103 ( bought once at LUT and again at the Eurotunnel Terminal) so £5.15 per packet. I believe they cost somewhere in the region of £11-12 ish here in the UK hence quite a saving.
Note: careful if travelling Eurostar, you can't buy any on the way back from Paris, there's not Duty Free there for some reason.

can’t remember if it’s an automatic refund if your flight is cancelled or if you have to request it (believe it’s the latter) but no issues at all and prompt refund for my cancellation.

I have also noticed that the 0.0% Tanqueray is line priced / more expensive than the 43% version so there is clearly some good margin being made. DF is rarely a bargain IMHO although there are occasional exceptions (and for smokers, the cost-savings do seem larger)
