Tried to book Athens flights this summer
I tried to book Athens flights this summer and there is such limited availability. Literally two days in a week over August where I could get a flight. Even tried Iberia through MAD and availabilty was so low.
I may be forced to use Jet2 to get out! Any advice?! Looking to go out 4th Aug and return on 11th.
UPDATE: Just tried to book Larnaca and it came back with no availability for August...!

easyJet or Ryanair had some reasonable-for-August fares, FR seems much favoured because of its record on cancellations, so it's not so cheap. I have a late August BA reservation and find myself checking each day to see if its still on the books.
Thessaloniki is a sometimes forgotten LCC gateway to Greece: it's way better value than Athens in terms of hotels; and if you resolve to travel on to Athens it's a cheap flight or 4+ (maybe ++ ) hours on the train.

Last week there were still about four or five flights on 4 August, but they vanished overnight. I’ve booked Wizzair from LGW. Price wasn’t too bad and I could get exit row seats. I also feel more confident that the flight will actually operate.

I cancelled our holiday to Greece some time back. We did have flights but they were not easy to get and not cheap. Accommodation and car hire were very expensive if you could find either. I figured everyone is going there, which is good reason to go somewhere else.

Booking a couple of weeks ago in peak season wasn’t the easiest in pre-Covid times. Now with capacity caps, revenge travel it is nigh on impossible.
I’d suggest a session on Skyscanner to look at flights, but check accommodation before you book.
