First wing had a long queue for security at 9am this morning which looked very slow. North fast track was quick(ish).

there were snaked queues for the other security points, as well as some check-ins, although some zones were virtually empty!

I can't see any big delays on the Euroairport website, do you know what the event might be?

Can’t quite believe I’m going from one disaster (SAS pilot strike) to another (Heathrow). We were just rebooked to fly back to LAX (CPH-LHR, LHR-LAX) on Wednesday and now I’m terrified given there’s only 1.5 hours between the flights.

Any tips? Both flights are in T5 and we are flying J, but have a toddler in tow. have to check bags but we can check the ones we would normally gate check in advance.

So both reasons would be the outcome of insufficient staff to run the full service. Generally speaking passengers on cancelled services can be reaccommodated on other BA still operating, or on AA services in the case of USA.

It was indeed ‘P/CAN’ in relation to the above.

BA2648 delay

Hello, not sure if this is related to the hot weather or not but sitting on the BA2648 (LHR to TIA) which has returned to the gate due a fault with the braking system. Does anyone know if ‘braking system fault’ would likely qualify for EU261 compensation?

I've heard from a friend (orange airline pilot) that LTN are closing their runway due to the heat.

I hope it doesn't spread because that would be a meltdown beyond belief...

Welcome to Flyertalk and welcome to the BA forum. Yes a technical fault is usually within scope for EC261, the key issue would be if your flight is three hours late in arrival at Tirana. That does appear to be on the cards, given the current arrival time is showing 22:07 instead of 18:35, however we will need to see how much of that is due to other factors such as ATC delays. So keep your watch handy and listen to anything from the flight deck about this.

I get the dig about London in the name, but a bit harsh considering that's going to lots of disruption for passengers and airlines when they could really do without it.

Sure. It was just a joke. It's always unpleasant when any public (transport) facility fails.
