Is it strange that £2.70 for a Twinnings teabag and some hot water is what offends me the most in this offering.

It’s ridiculous. Was £2.30 when introduced (so should be £2.58 today using CPI inflation).

On launch as well as boasting everything was under £5, these were the other price comparisons they wanted to draw:

  • An Easyjet sandwich is £4.50, whereas British Airways’ Marks & Spencer sandwiches cost £3 for nine month aged farmhouse cheddar cheese ploughman’s. A packet of crisps on Ryanair costs £2.16 whereas a packed of hand-cooked crisps on British Airways will cost £1. A cup of tea on Norwegian costs £2.50, and on British Airways will cost £2.30.

Also see that there's a can of wine in there for £8 too which is nonsense.

Is it all served on one tray? Without a bread plate? I regret I really don’t understand the subject. 😎

I'm glad they highlighted this is for onboard delivery only. I was considering ordering one for delivery to my home

Is it not the case that hot water is still available on request for free
Am sure you can get a box of 100 of these in Tesco for £3.

Why the annoyance over a tea bag and some hot water ? It’s what every high street coffee shop does - but for more cost !

Probably because many airlines offer it for free? (Coffee shops don’t)

Apologies edited to see that that's a fiver, and its not a plain scone AND the picture has the cream and jam the wrong way round!

But BA don’t. So the price point isn’t too badly placed

They will soon start a menu in the FL and GC where the food/drinks are free but the plates and glasses cost a fiver plus.
