They are taking the plastic lids off. What more can one ask for?!

I love that we have the same mains in each cabin, just with slight tweaks (mainly to the menu descriptions)…

And they still haven’t corrected the CW ‘selection of desserts’…

Not just pre-covid then, we’re going back to the 80s…

That J menu is so depressing. Especially given that Aer Lingus are more than capable of proper J food, as shown in yesterday’s review on HFP….

Perhaps we need a FT campaign to bring back trolleys to Club? A new dedicated thread?

Hmm, if these lids are going to be manufactured and used pre-service anyway then, I'd prefer to remove them myself.... - think what nasties could get into the yellow cheese / red cheese 'board'

Have they not been doing that anyway? Certainly my flight earlier in the month they were taken off.

In with the starters? I seem to recall it was in that section on the menu pre-covid. I assumed salad and soup were in addition to your starter

It was additional and should be listed separately with a choice of dressings, looks like it isn’t returning.

And it was frequently my favourite options. I had a few really lovely ones over the years. I'd typically do either that or the fish.

On the plus side, at one point they tried to include a "comfort food" option instead of another main (e.g. the burger) after ending the separate bistro menu, and I'm glad that they haven't continued with that silly trend (don't take me wrong, burgers, pies, and steak sandwiches etc are great as an additional offer but not instead of a traditional meat main!)

So basically, nostalgia score:

F Tasting menu: 10/10
Separate bistro menu for mid-flight cravings: 9/10
Salad main course: 8/10
Bistro mains instead of regular main: 1/10

If that is the menu for my F flight in September I’ll be happy as long as they load sufficient of each item!
