Gosh LHR is a mess this afternoon. North Galleries an absolute tip, dirty glasses (supposedly cleaned) etc, and full to the brim. Lots of cancellations on the board - perhaps that’s not helping. I feel for the lounge staff having to deal with all of us!

North tends to get the brunt of shorthaul delays - it really struggles these days even in 'normal' peaks. If you're on long-haul or have more than two hours before your flight, wander over to T5B, it's usually much quieter.

am off to Madrid - actually hoping I get a B gate so I have the excuse!

I’ve just noticed they’re serving a 2014 Chateau Batailley (RRP £65 or so) - so I’ve changed my tune rather dramatically.

The BA lounge wine randomiser is always a joy. I'm sure someone at Waterside picks out wines with an idea of which lounge each is meant to go in. However, I don't think anyone on the ground is aware of this.

indeed. Drinking a really good red out of a dirty glass while eating a coronation chicken sandwich that must have cost sub 2p to make rather sums up the schizophrenic BA experience at the moment.

Was on an IB to Madrid a couple of weeks back that left from C, so B lounge was a no brainer!

LHR Galleries North is a bit of a secret spot for good wine. I had the best part of a bottle of 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet last time I was there.

EDIT: QR were serving Batailley in J last time I flew with them. Very acceptable claret!! 🍷🍷🍷

Was delicious! And thoroughly spoiled the RdD I had on the IB flight to be honest.

Alcohol is a disinfectant, and you need to disinfect the entire glass, correct? :)
