BA223 LHR-BNA on board but still at gate 2± hours

It appears that a bulb/ light unit on the tail fin needed replacing and the engineers are having difficulty changing the unit.
If I heard the announcement correctly from the captain (I was nodding off), this is an outstanding maintenance item and it is the last day in which the plane can operate without it being fixed.
I hope they can fix it and we can get on our way.

You should ask the captain how many BA engineers need to change a lightbulb. :d

If the flight is delayed until tomorrow would we still have to take new covid tests?

Usually you won't have to do so, BA has an arrangement where if the same flight goes late, even the next day, that's still ok. The problem may be if you go indirectly via another route but BA then gives you a voucher to go to ExpressTest and so you can get tested before going to your accommodation. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but at some point the crew will be out of hours..........

Whilst the flight to wonderful Nashville is delayed, I hope everyone who is traveling has a fabulous time in my home town-whether those passengers are from Nashville or elsewhere!
Summer is now here and it is a lot warmer than usual for early June!
Eager for my July flight from BNA to LHR to FRA!
Stay safe everyone!

We are well on our way now, and enjoying Club World service.
First class is curtained off (no passengers I believe).
My first long haul flight since covid struck- enjoying this travelling lark once again 😊

Definitely worth exploring the Opryland Resort too - and the Dukes of Hazard Museum opposite!
