Flights showing as operated by “BA Mainline Prime Lhr Shorthaul” in MMB
We just had a seat change notification for our award flight to BCN in August - it's now the smallest Club Europe cabin I've seen (two rows), and we were conveniently split across the aisle, but that was easily rectified
More interestingly however, the booking now shows as operated by "BA Mainline Prime Lhr Shorthaul" - I've never seen that before. Has that been going on for a while? Looks a bit like there are so many different BA operations and wet leases around that they are distinguishing more than just the operaiting airline in MMB?

I’ve got that too. I’m flying from Barcelona back to London on Thursday. A few days ago my flight switched from being BA operated to being Iberia operated (and I also got the seats switched to be either side of the aisle!)
Now I’ve got the message about my flight being operated by Mainline prime I wonder whether we’ve been switched back to a BA plane?

I think there are plans to wet lease some Iberia aircraft and crew at some point on this route, so not sure if this might be related to that in some way?

Funny, we just had the exact same thing for a bunch of flights back from BCN and of course I came straight here …
Assuming Flyertalkers are the quickest on the draw when it comes to jumping on seat selection, I don’t suppose anyone here is on BA487 on August 8th and in 1C or 1D and fancies a window seat in row 1 so we can sit together? ;-)

My Finnair wet lease for Split in August has this too.
Typically, BA's IT is confirming where it never did before that this is BA MAINLINE PRIME when of course it is the exact opposite...

Even before this, I kind of expected these flights to be operated by Iberia, they are the obvious candidates for it...

Ah, so it means that it will probably be operated by Iberia, does it? I guess it makes sense in the usual context of never trusting anything BA says, so if they say it is definitely BA MAINLINE PRIME, then it definitely won't be

I booked a LHR-FAO for this weekend and before booking it said operated by Finnair, now it says BA Mainline Prime Shorthaul etc. like the OP.
Seatmap is very clearly an A321ceo so can't be BA as IIRC theirs are all still parked?

Just had the same on a BCN - LHR flight next Tuesday, don't mind who operates it, but I'm not happy with the fact myself and the other half were in 1D/1F have now been split into 1F and 2F with somebody else in 1D - how can a simple change of plane operator (same plane type!) generate a mess in terms of seating!

Yeap, got the "Operated by BA Mainline Prime Lhr Shorthaul" message for our LHR-ARN-LHR flights too - a little out of their way maybe... . And sure enough, two rows of "CE" with me in 1F and Mrs CKBA in 2F. Duh! You can do better BA - the difference is that you used know you could do better, now it just seems you don't care!

Also just received email for a flight to BER on 20 August. Email says Iberia, MMB says "BA Mainline Prime Lhr Shorthaul"
We are in Y anyway in exit row, and that still seems to be the case so will just go with the flow. MMB shows it as a A320, EF sayings it's operated by Iberia and there are currently 5 club rows.
