Lounge recommendation for Dubai?
 

Any lounge recommendations for Dubai (DXB), travelling Qatar (BA code) and BA Gold. Do I have access to the Emirates First Lounge?

No, because Emirates is not in the oneworld alliance and you are not flying Emirates.

The only people who can access that are people flying Qantas, as Qantas and Emirates have a joint venture.

BA lounge
Marhaba lounge
The Gallery & Cadiz lounge ( T3 for Qatar per the oneworld site)

I received a message yesterday, was due to fly from DWC but switched back to DXB (12th May).

I haven't been to Dubai in a couple of years but I believe the BA lounge is only for First class and Emerald passengers. Business class and Sapphires (and those on QR operated flights) go to the Marhaba lounge.

I think that might be the case when the BA 380 leaves dubai due to capacity ( the op is on Qatar but do not know the departure time)

The British Airways Lounge appears to be only open 06:00 - 10:30 and 21:00 - 02:30 (daily) even when there is no evening BA flight?

Hi - just checked one world BA lounges for T1 at DBX - I may be reading it incorrectly of course , but can gold card members travelling business class use the BA lounge in T1 ?? it states first class with silver etc having to use the Marhaba lounge .. I have a 6 hour stopover arriving in T3 from BSR so looking at best way to transfer between T3 & T1also - was a pain on way out ...

The way I read it is as a BA Gold / OW Emerald you should have access to this lounge.
(I have no idea what this lounge is like compared with the Marhaba though)

I have used the BA lounge in dubai as a ba gold in Business with no issues.

I think if the aircraft is an a380 then silvers and Club world with no status are more likely to be invited to use the marhaba lounge

The lounge is quite good but found especially with an a380 nighttime flight the lounge can be busy and feels a bit cramped as the seats are close together

Can anyone advise if there is showers available in lounge area ?

Totally didn't realise it was only golds/OWE that could access the BA lounge in DXB T1, I assumed it was silver/OWS and above. You learn something new everyday! Every time I have used it it has been absolutely packed, must be a status heavy route.

That's bizarre, given that it wasn't built as a First lounge, and Club/Sapphire had access prior to Covid.
