OP may want to consider this reroute for their rebook, especially if they're already eligible for double tier points with BAH.... that would be quite a sweet incentive from a tier points perspective.
True, however, this is an 18-day Holiday, and getting to SFO as early as possible with a decent connection was the overriding consideration. 4 hour drive to South Lake Tahoe and my body clock on midnight! West Cost Time 1730! Will bear in mind for the future.

BA2609 NAP - LHR 31/8/22 cancelled. That was the 14:45 flight so looks like they have culled the mid morning outbound from LHR and afternoon flight back. Still have early morning and evening flights.

I've changed my cancelled SOF flights to OTP now. Expecting those to be cancelled, or badly re-timed at some point though
One positive is that my US flights are better now. Don't arrive into JFK at nearly 10pm with a 6:30am departure to SFO now - all same day.
Don't have my 45 min connection for JFK-LHR to LHR-SOF any more either. Now about 4-5hrs, and if OTP remains in T3, QF and CX lounges

Just got to get to Bucharest now.

BA639 ATH-LHR cancelled 31/08/2022 (14:15 departure). Two alternative flights remain in the morning, two in the evening, but still a bit surprising given the end of holidays and commensurate high prices that week.

No doubt my return a week later (on the inbound of that sector) will also get the chop on a week or so!
Just out of interest I'd looked at alternative flights the day before. Basically our itinery ha seen shot through, with 6 hours wait at LHR on the way out, and 8 hours on the way back.

BA285 1110 LHR-SFO operates Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday that week, but doesn't on Monday or Thursday.

What is the reasoning behind such a haphazard schedule? Would that be linked to taking a plane out of the system for maintenance or redeployed on another route?

BA176 JFK-LHR Aug 10 just cancelled.

Rebooked ok to BA112 one hour earlier; got the last F seat. This is the third cancellation in my itinerary (but it did allow me to switch to a better date on an earlier cancellation).

Just found out my BA115 LHR-JFK on 03 Aug is cancelled, no notification from either BA or AA (it's an AA booking). No online option to move so will have to ring up... guess they've been through trimming flights out on routes like JFK with multiple flights a day.

I am surprised by this or maybe I have been lucky. Not had a LHR-JFK cancelled yet and I have done 12 returns since US reopened. Sad times. But now happened to me too.

Needed to call, then put on an earlier connecting flight which has no chance of making the LHR-JFK leg. Hopefully the SH will get cancelled and I can move it.

BA115 LHR-JFK canceled on 31st august. They must have a crazy lack of staff to be cutting the schedule this far in advance, and during peak season. Wonder if the flight we rebooked on will also get changed or cancelled too?

Any idea when the next slug of cancellations for August will start to be implemented?

Assuming everyone will get at least 14 days notice people with flights booked early August should start getting cancellations at the end of next week.
