I think a queue of 200 waiting to enter TFW would stretch at least half way down the check in floor at T5. I haven't seen anything that bad so far.

I doubt any of the 7 people waiting were flying first
I don't think that this is entirely (or at all) true. Were there nobody flying F, there would be hardly anyone in the Concorde Room, yet it always seems well filled with people, many of whom will not be the holders of those elusive Concorde Room cards.

Perhaps the first wing needs a separate first checkin area

I am not sure I would say well filled - certainly not post covid since F routes and seats have been reduced. Numbers in the CCR don't seem to remotely match numbers going through TFW, so I would say yes the majority accessing TFW are there due to status (BA gold/OWE) rather than actually flying in F.

Or Sedan Chairs when flyers arrive outside the terminal for those with enough tier points, some don't need umbrellas as they already profess to walk between raindrops

They do have exactly that - complete with red carpet - in certain AA check-in areas.

No queue at 5.30am this morning. Perhaps I overdid it as my flight isn’t until 3pm*

* not really, was 7.15!

Still no real queue now, airport as a whole is a lot quieter than I expected.

I know a a while back, 31st March at 18:00, it took 45-minutes plus to get through with bags, only 3-staff on, and we had the grumpiest one.

American had 2, and one of them were constantly walking the queue taking anyone who was flying with them to the front

Mrs Royalscot went through yesterday around 2.30pm and said she was the only person in security at that time, so it really does depend on the time of day and day of the week

No queues at TFW for BA just now (9.45am Weds) at T5 for checkin or security. There was a queue of maybe 4 pax for the AA desks in TFW but that was all.

F lounge busy, CCR maybe 30 people in total - not heaving but not empty either.

Another data point - midday Wed 13th April no queue for First Wing check in desk or security. GC moderately busy, as is CCR

Lots of people landside in T5 departures but queues looked small. North and South security both showing 3 out of 5

But you can use it if you are OW Emerald.
