Pilfer proofing the lounges

My first time since “help yourself” champagne and food returned to the FLounge.

I notice they are allowing you to pour your own champagne and water . But canned beverages are served from the bar.

I presume this is to stop naughty freeloaders filling their rucksacks…?

F Lounge at Heathrow? Was there last week and could still help myself to Heineken. Albeit 20 miles from the terrace.

Yep. It’s now behind the “bar area”.

All canned drinks, even soft ones are behind the bar.

I bet some people try and steal champagne from the Flounge as the 🦆 there is better than the NF stuff they serve in CE. I imagine beer is probably the most stolen item from lounges but last time I checked it was only Heineken which will surely reduce the temptation to steal it

All I can say is Galleries Club North, South and T5B is entirely self pour including access to the fridges full of mixers and beers. Clearly assets have to be protected from the sticky-fingered brigade who are permitted in to the Flounge.

A thief isn’t that much of a problem if they’re pilfering from you on their twice annual J flight to New York. If however you have a Goldie dropping by GF for their home goods on a weekly basis you have an issue

Surprising. So perhaps BA see it as a superior customer experience to have a bar man rather than a fridge?

To be fair, they hand you the cans without opening them - so plenty of scope for migrating a few out in an LV Keepall.

I wonder if the data shows higher rates of pilfering on routes to KEF, OSL, ARN, GOT, CPH, etc?

Another example of how highly BA think of their frequent flyers.
