The approach the LHR was nice. Windy but a nicely managed crab approach and left gear towards the wind touchdown. Textbook stuff. I congratulated the captain when leaving who in true understated style admitted to it being “a little bit exciting”.

Now sat in the CCR and after a slow start the LPGS is flowing nicely.

More technically: particularly on days like today, I'm also impressed by landing gear.

Nice! Saw your flight land on BigJet TV, nicely done. Enjoy the bubbly.

I'm even more impressed by the wheels themselves. Passing from just a few rotations per second to thousands in a moment, from zero pressure on them to, well, lots without exploding... not bad.

He is complaining a lot about everyone wanting to interview him, though possibly he doth complain too much.

I’ve noticed quite a few arrivals from the SW doing what I call an up and under - flying over the approach to North London and then curving back in as if coming out of Lambourn. Is that to keep Ockham free for go-arounds?

His footage does seem to feature regularly in news (and "news") items on days like today. No doubt he will make some money from that. And given that he is voluntarily standing in a storm-toss'd field for hours to get the footage, he deserves to.

I'm just happy that I can switch off both the sound and the subtitles.

He will have YouTube monetization but he always says they never take money for news channels/media to use his clips - only that they keep a watermark and credit him.

I believe the exception was the near (?) A321 BA tailstrike clip he had recently which the proceeds from he either he donated or told the network to donate to Pilots Together - a charity.
