Avis Booking via MMB

I’ve made two Avis car bookings via MMB on an upcoming trip to the US. I checked to see if they are showing on my Avis app and they are both showing correctly. However, despite my credit card details in my Avis account being up to date, the booking says reserved by Amex Corporate card (which I don’t have). In the Avis app is also says payment on arrival and flexible cancellation. However, BA has already debited my Amex card in full for both bookings and, although it has been a couple of years since I last did a car booking, I don’t remember being billed immediately. Is that now normal procedure?

Yes. The car hire is arranged by BA Holidays so you will be charged by them when you make the booking. And Avis will charge BAH.

The terms in the Avis App say it can be cancelled free of charge. Does that mean BAH would only give an FTV in the event of a need to cancel?

You didn't book with Avis direct, but a third party (BAH) so their terms would apply not Avis ?
