News presenter Eamonn Holmes on Monday, 8th August at George Best Airport in Belfast. He was checking in before me at the BA desk, then I spotted him again in the lounge. Looking frail and in a wheelchair, due to back issues.

Mum and I were actually sitting next to him on a flight to Los Angeles recently. While I appreciate he isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, he was very charming and courteous to her (she is a huge fan) and made the flight go that much quicker. I guess away from the cameras, everyone has a different personality!

Is it not still the case that all MP's get Silver anyway, plus would imagine he would be CE if on official travel. The lot that went to Gibraltar and were all smashed when they got there certainly were.

At last a real celebrity: PSA to LHR CE yesterday Mitsuko Uchida and her partner (ex-EU bigwig Robert Cooper). Good to see the first-rate BA crew not fawning uncontrollably (or fawning at all!) unlike appearance in PSA/LHR CE a couple of years ago of Benedict Cumberbatch + family.
