When does your TP year expire?

You could do LHR to Luxembourg return - one way in CE and one in ET (not under the very cheapest code) - in September for about £150? Dublin has similar prices, too.

It's about £210 for each if you went CE both ways, but if you only need 50 you can get 40 in CE and 10 for the one fare up from basic in ET.

Hi!

I'm booked to fly with JAL from LHR-HND in H class next week, with the return HND-CDG-LHR, also in H (M for the CDG leg).

I'm trying to establish how many BAEC tier points the trip as a whole will generate. BA calculator says 40 for each Tokyo leg, but other places say 80, which is what I was expecting as it's a flexible ticket class. I'm assuming the BA calc is correct but thought I'd see if anyone knows otherwise? I'm 205 from Silver before this trip, so will determine what I need to do in terms of tier point run before December.

Thanks!

H selling class earning for LHR-HND seems to depend on what you booked this under. If booked under the BA codeshare (if there is one) you earn 80 one way, but if booked under the JL flight numbers you earn 40 one way.

M selling class for CDG-LHR would be 10.

Booked under the JL flight no. Dammit.

Thanks for clarifying!

Hi all. Can I ask for advice from the experts here?

Just finished a points run. The relevant bit for this query is BOS-PHX-LAX, for 180 TPs, booked via American Airlines

My BOS-PHX was delayed meaning I would miss the connection to LAX at PHX. AA rerouted me BOS-LAX direct. Was able to sample the A321 Transcon which was good however I lost 40 TP for PHX-LAX

1) Would it be worth arguing the point I should get the 40 TP as it was the fault of AA ?
2) If the answer to 1) is yes, who would I take it up with, BA (where I am Gold) or AA where I have no status ?

Thanks in anticipation
Chris

Yes. This would be claimable under the Original Routing Credit basis (ORC). You should claim from BA. There is a dedicated thread on this in the forum that should be findable using the search term ORC.

EDIT. Here is the thread:

Considering taking advantage of the reduced qualifying threshold for 2022 and going from 0 TPs to 400 before year end. The only issue is I have no plans (or desire) to go TATL. I know I need 4 segments on BA (either marketed or operated) to qualify for Silver. Are there any routes in the US that are marketed by BA but flown by a domestic OW carrier so that I can collect the BA marketed segments without leaving the country? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, I literally have never flown BA before but want the Flagship Lounge access.

BA does not sell any US domestic code shares unless they are in conjunction with a transatlantic flight unfortunately. There are some Caribbean short hops on BA that work but that is the nearest you can do.

Quick question...

I'm the head of a household acct. I swear that whenever I book, it uses miles from my acct first, and so if accts were to ever be separated, I'd have none and everyone else's would be untouched. Is there anyway to force it to choose another account to use the miles first for the next booking or share it evenly or anything like this?

Thanks!

Unless something has changed recently it uses the number of points from each person relative to their total in the account. For example, if I had 90% of points in my account and my wife had 10% then a booking for 100,000 points in our household account would take 90k from my account and 10k from my wife.

I am not sure if you realise that to get Silver under the reduced threshold you need 450TP not 400TP.

You can do US domestic flights on AA and credit to BAEC for most of those TP.

As for the BA flights you can book BA 5th Freedom flights between NAS and GCM or ANU to TAB though you might find it easier just to do a transatlantic flight on BA.
