Qantas have lifetime status at all three levels in their programme. 7,000 of their status credits for Silver (Ruby aka BA Bronze), 14,000 status credits for Gold (Sapphire, BA Silver) and... wait for it... 75,000 status credits for Platinum (Emerald, BA Gold).

Based loosely on that ratio, with BA Gold being 35,000, offering lifetime BA Silver should be at 7,000 Tier Points or so. I'd be happy with it at anything between 7,000 and 10,000 to be honest.

Obviously both airlines calculate things very differently based on their frequent flyer base, travel patterns and so on, but there's an example anyway!

I would settle for decent food on board! Let’s hope the BA bean counters give Do&Co a bit more room for manoeuvre in 2022!

In addition to those already mentioned:

* Stop touting that you're the world's favourite airline. You aren't, and never have been. A bit of humility would go a long way.
* Improve punctuality, stop arbitrary cancellations.
* Stop charging people to select their seats in business class. No other self-respecting airline does this.
* A website that actually does things, instead of forcing people to spend many hours on the phone for tasks that could easily be automated.
* Employ one of the FT BA specialists as a consultant to assist in improving service and image!

1) Invest in the website so people can self-service without relying on a call centre that clearly can’t cope.
2) Fix the food.

A late evening service from LHR to MAN, allowing connection from late-afternoon flights from western continental cities.

Direct flights from MAN to points in continental Europe such as AMS, BRU, GVA and BER {though I would prefer TXL if it was still open).

I like flying backwards, so am not at all bothered by a slow replacement of old CW by CS.

The Return of First
At the moment no First to GRU,CPT (inclusive Winter 22/23)
and Routes with F, please make A-Class available!
For example ex VIE-LHR to almost all US destinations and back, it is showing F7A0 (was looking for September/October 2022),
with no seats taken, according to Expertflyer.

Only point of sale UK has availability for the same flights F7/A3

This for sure will keep me away from BA and put me in the arms (onto flights) of LH,LX and EK.

All the best for 2022,
ettrich

BA haven’t claimed to be the world’s favourite airline in almost 20 years, when they actually were. More people flew BA than any other airline in the world.

A better Gregorian year of 2022 to all of you!

On-board potable water service is available on request, subject to availability of stated liquid.

Rebrand accomplished.

Anyway, continuing on the original subject, in a more serious tone:
  • Make it clear what the longterm intention is for CCR access. Will it remain for all GGL members, even without 5000 TPs?
  • Restore the LHR-HEL route, which was cancelled at the onset of the pandemic. I'm stuck with no longer having saver redemptions available within Europe for an entire trip ex-HEL. Waterside, I'm counting on you! *pounds fist into table* Or not.
  • Taken that Britons still seem to flock to Lapland for seeing Santa Claus/Father Christmas/whatever you want to call the imposter of a historic Turkish chap, since at least four decades back, I'm somewhat surprised that there's no seasonal winter route LGW/LCY-RVN. IAG seems to be happy to leave the Santa Claus and Lapland experience tourism entirely to U2 and LS, as well as charter flights (mainly BY). AY did ex-LGW to KTT or RVN for one season in 2019, and it was also available as a BA codeshare, but so far ex-UK to Finnish Lapland seems to be returning without any direct Oneworld competition. It's not like I have a personal need for it, but I do like to see feasible travel business being picked up on. I mean, shouldn't everyone here be excited by one more 80 TP route?

Obviously RVN must be feasible in some sense, taken that some 15 years it was an annual Concorde charter destination. Photo lended from the newspaper Kaleva.

The CCR Card has gone with CCR access now extended to all GGLs.

I think some of the replies are indeed ''pie in the sky'' although no harm in dreaming I suppose. I'd just like life to get back as close to pre pandemic normality as soon as possible including air travel.

Speaking of which...a little birdie has told me it will in the late UK spring/early summer.

+1 for resuming service to HEL; AY's pricing for J on this route is... let's call it aspirational. BA's service was much more realistically priced, and subsequently the Ł/TP ratio was great value.
