..effective Tuesday.

That will effectively kill my Berlin trip….

[EDIT: Spoke with Mrs Duck1981 and we’ve decided to f**k this regulation and still go as we won’t stay at home for the next 5,37 years until Covid variant EpsilonDeltaDeathStar87 has been mitigated with vaccine Comiblablubraty]

Assuming it’s a video lateral flow it’s not that bad IMO other than another annoying £30 tax

I could just about cope with a test before my trip to NYC and then quarantine when coming back, but I can't risk having to quarantine in another country (and the cost) so that's my next trip cancelled.

I think some non video tests such as Chronomics might still be accepted as last time. Makes it slightly more bearable.

So you’d be happy flying back ignorantly whether positive or not ?

Or some form of local test with some form of identification number to complete the PLF for those travelling tomorrow, or already away

That's my NYC next week cancelled. Can't risk being stranded overseas.

I'm in favour of this change, it makes sense to test travellers before they get on an aircraft. I routinely test on the morning before every trip I take.

Think I'll be revising my answer on the 'have you given up on leisure travel' thread then.

Another hammerblow for the entire travel industry.

Ditto - it is too risky taking a test while in a foreign country. Plus it is just more money and hard work.

It is going to be a rough winter for travel again.

I took a lateral flow on the Friday and was negative. Tested positive from another on Sunday.
No guarantee if I flew back from the US with a negative test, took a day 2 PCR next morning on arrival, that I wouldn't be positive a day or two later.

I would rather be back home and test positive than be stuck somewhere abroad that could costs ££££.

(If it's a non-supervised lateral flow, got the simplytestme one I ordered a while ago lying around, assuming that could be used)
