Cant select seats on AA.com, BA booking
Keep getting..Sorry, we are unable to reserve your seats with American Airlines at the moment. If your booking was made less than 48 hours ago please try again tomorrow. Otherwise please contact your local British Airways office.
It's been 5 days now. Any ideas? Tried twitter but obviously still waiting. Can't face calling. Can't find the reservation on AA.com

Have you got the AA PNR? If this is an AA operated flight you are best off using that on aa.com and selecting seats on there.
The AA PNR would be different to the BA PNR. If you can't see it on ba.com another method is:

One way to get your BA PNR is
- go to the Qantas website and put your BA PNR in to MMB
- when in the booking go to the seat selection section and you should see "Seat selection is only available for flights operated by Qantas. To select seats and manage your booking, visit British Airways site with your booking reference “XXXXX" where XXXXX is your AA PNR

If you are really struggling, even try reaching out to them via a Twitter private message - they have helped me out with issues like this in the past.

Unfortunately when I try this it says 'this booking was made with a travel agent.' Anything I try to do says 'Call your travel travel:
To be clear, this was a simple flight booking booked on BA.com

Hi.
I have kind of a similar issue? Had changes due to flight cancellations that I called BAH to sort on Tuesday. I have the AA PNR but the AA website cannot show the itinerary ( although the trip exists) and AA cannot help after phoning, but confirm I have seats, although I cannot see them or change them.
I wonder if its related to BAs IT issues with BAEC?

Ive got a similar issue. Just (two days ago) rebooked LHR DFW OGG with the last segment on AA. I have both the AA and BA record locators but neither the AA app nor AA.com is showing this flight so I cant change seats (annoyingly been given the only seat in J with only one window, first world needs!).
The return flights via LAX and JFK are showing on both BA and AA so am puzzled as to why just one leg is missing.

It may be the case that youre missing the 3rd PNR. if your booking is "complicated" enough you should have
- a BA PNR with all flights according to the number they are ticketed.
- an AA PNR with all AA flights as AA numbered (regardless how they are booked)
- an AA PNR with most of the flights as they a ticketed.
somehow you need the first, sometimes you need the latter, sometimes you need to call.

I have the third. On Aa.com and in the app I see all three home bound legs. One AS one AA and one BA.
I don't have the second. If I try via BA to change seats on the DFW OGG leg, it gives me the correct AA locator but doesnt show me the flight. On AA it just has the three back.
I really dont want to waste someones time to just move seats but it would be nice to see the AA flight in their app just to be safe.

OK. I have the first. All five segments are showing (with seat reservations too) in the BA app and in MMB. Two BA flights, two AA flights and an AS.
