No. To Germany in app 72 hours before they opened BA docs submit link, vaccine and German form was required for me. This took a few hours to verify. No VeriFly app.

Returning to UK was VeriFly.

Newbie here and looking for some advice please.
I was wondering if i can fly out and back on the same day from LHR to FRA on the A380.
I've been through FRA before and know it is a large airport but thinking if BA allow me to book both flights I should be ok. It is 90min turnaround

Hi
I think george77300 ( post 81 above) did the fra a380 b2b yesterday and it was straight forward.
on non a380 flights it might be more complex as it could be bussing involved both to/from the aircraft ( a380 uses the jetbridge gates)

Regards
Tbs

Extra cabin crew required for the upper deck will be unnecessary for BA to bother, so I’d say with almost certainty it’ll be lower deck only.
The UD was used during the original FRA runs - by sheer luck, I was the first paying passenger ever to fly in 53A on G-XLEA, because the day that I picked happened to be the first day that the UD was used.

IIRC, what happened then was that one deck was used for pax, and the other deck had further cabin crew on board who were basically being trained on board without pax. When the UD was used, the MD had the extra crew, and vice versa. The capped loads facilitated this, as well as making sure that a late sub was still possible.

If the current short-haul flights are primarily being used for pilots rather than cabin crew, then this time may of course be different.

Yes, I think if it is a 380 B2B you’d likely be OK as george77300 described above - I assume there are only a limited number of gates that can handle an A380 and (assuming they’re all configured as he describes) you shouldn’t have any issues.

This definitely isn’t the case for all flights/airlines at FRA - especially smaller jets. Every time I’ve been on Lufthansa Cityline’s NCL-FRA flights (Bombardier CRJ) they’ve used remote gates so far down the runway that by the time the bus arrives you feel like you’re practically in Luxemburg. A B2B would be impossible on those, as they drop you off in a different place to the departure bus ‘gate’. I can’t speak to the usual BA experience as every time I tried to fly them to FRA in the last 18 months, they cancelled and I ended up on LH…

Question BA462 today

What was the problem with the A380 to Madrid today. Scheduled departure 15.15 only just left the gate 16.50?

Just got back from a day trip. German immigration asked how log I was staying, then only wanted to see a vaccination certificate. Restaurants and the Maintower observation platform in Frankfurt also wanted to see the certificate.

Out on the A380, almost cloudless day in Frankfurt, then back on the BEA Retro A319. Result.

For day trips to Germany - what have people put into the Digital Registry as the address in Germany as we will not be staying overnight but it wants a very specific address.

For terminal 2 I put street Kapitan-Lehmann-Strasse, door number 2. BA wanted the form even though it was only a day trip, but German immigration weren't bothered.
