Hi

There is a post on the coronavirus thread on this topic
recently ( since 1st nov iirc) the gov.uk site states that a plf is not needed if transiting airside in England.
HOWEVER Verifly still states a plf is required and 2 ft'ers have reported that BA would not allow check in until the plf was completed for transit.

Thank you TBS

Read on the gov.uk as well. I don´t want to have any risk go for the plf.

Verifly also aks for the german plf, can´t wait to talk that out with the agent in MAD, as I´m 100% sure I don´t need it.

C55-C57 (and stand 588 which isn't served by an airbridge) and C61-C65 are the A380-capable gates at T5C, although C61 is never used as it only has one airbridge.

So A380 departures tend to go from C55-C57 or C62-C65.
There’s no guarantee that they’ll be the C gates though. It could be that you get an A gate and get bussed out.

Yes it is unlikely, but you never know, and people need to be aware.

I'm flying LHR-FRA this weekend. I'll be arriving from Ireland which isn't currently a risk area. I can't check-in online without uploading the German form. Should I be OK to check-in at the airport? It clearly states on the German government website that you don't have to do the registration if you only pass through a risk area.

The German form takes about two minutes to do, it might just be easier to just do it.

Stakes are high if you want to debate it with the agent in MAD and the debate doesn't go your way.
Neither of the forms takes more than a couple of minutes to complete so I apply the Nike slogan logic in these situations - 'Just do it'

Finally agree to create a plf for the airside transit in UK, but not for Germany if it is not necessary.

If you are not fully vaccinated or under 12 years and have no negative test, as a local you have to self quarantine for minimum 5 days.

Have this one as a backup in your pocket

Yes, but do you spend 2 minutes typing out the online form or 5 minutes arguing with the check-in agent?

Today’s flight to FRA was from gate A10.

Some great views when boarding!

Hi

I suppose with a capped load equivalent of an a320 and the upper deck not being used then a10 is a possibility also

Great photos!

Would love to see a full a380 being bussed from a10

regards

That is the proper way to board a large airliner, and the closest that we will now get to a proper BA 747 boarding experience.
