BA bringing back A380s from November 2021

We've just reported that British Airways are bringing back the A380 slightly sooner than expected - from November. https://www.headforpoints.com/2021/1...ing-a380-back/

Will operate to Frankfurt and Madrid at first so great opportunity to fly it if you haven't done it before. Old Club though, sadly so you're stuck with yin-yang

Anyone know what will happen with the F cabin in this case? Flub for anyone flying J?

From memory they never opened the F cabin for the proving flights / not sure how they would be able to clean them on a European sector timeline

Wow exciting news ! Can't see the 97J seats and maybe 55W seats being full to overflow into F....

Good to hear they are making a return! Though with 97J and 55W seats, that's a lot for two CE bars to cover

Upper deck and F cabin are closed for short haul flying.

When used as proving flights previously they only sold the capacity of an A319/A320 in case they had to switch the aircraft at the last minute.. They only ever used the lower deck section of J.

Nice to see BA have woken up re. Dubai. I found it crazy last winter that they were happy for EK to fill 6 A380s a day from LHR with largely O&D traffic BA should have been targeting whilst BA barely operated the route.

Sadly not going to happen in the winter, but pretty please can they add ORD?

JNB lost the 380 for W21/22 in favour of a 77W which I find a terrible aircraft for overnight flights.
I hope it makes a return. With South Africa being widely reported as coming off the red list this week, who knows?

Perhaps BA are going to use to increase capacity on bucket and spade routes to reduce frequencies. The novelty value may give them a competitive advantage over the low cost airlines.

It will go to the usual places providing they are suitably open - LAX, MIA, DXB etc.

Never flown on the A380, I really didn’t have a desire to do so, but I will see if I can fly on it before it’s scrapped.

From a passenger perspective it is a fantastic aircraft. Without doubt my favourite aircraft in the fleet. The space up in First is excellent. I for one am delighted to see it return, it's the long-haul aircraft I've travelled on most frequently (triple digits) in the last 7/8 years.
