Will the A380 make a return to the BOS route in 2022? Booked for next May (BA215/BA214) currently showing as B777-2/3s. I know it's not an exact science but from previous knowledge, which flights were A380 on that route pre-COVID, given so many daily flights, in the hope we strike lucky closer to the time? Treated my parents to their first premium cabin flights in First next year so this would be an added bonus!

Interesting post on Insta from a BA A380 pilot, as part of the re-entry training they are accompanying an A350 crew to Accra today as the cockpit is so similar (but just 2 engines vs 4), and apparently all A380 cockpit crews will go through the same routine - so look out for extra cockpit crew on your A350 flights over the next few weeks!

I think anything beyond the initial timetabled routes for December and early January would be very much subject to change, especially as 27 March is the first day of the northern summer schedule, so really just based on what happened the year prior. Although I'm not saying it won't be an A380. I hope it will!

Not confirmed, but almost certainly planned as per the December schedule, at least up until the 26th March. Unless anyone else here knows otherwise? I would expect to see them added in soon. Also DFW will be inserted at some point, but not from December.

I'd asked about SIN for next summer earlier in this thread. What do people think? I'd think with the changes in travel to SIN maybe by next summer surely it would be a suitable route once again?

My guess is that BA, along with the other major airliners apart from Emirates are worried that they bring back the A380s and then things get worse (Covid-wise) or restrictions return, which is horrible if that happens.
That's probably why schedules are yet to be firmed up too far out. As much as I'd love to be confident of the next 3-6 months and beyond, clearly everyone is still worried about what the immediate holds and every move is a very cautionary step forward.

My return flight from MIA in early May has switched to A380. Annoyingly I am in CW on this flight (BA208), and in F on the outbound which is still a 777 with CS (BA207), really wishing it was the other way round.

A388 replaces A351 on BA56 JNB to LHR in Jan
Just received an email confirming an operational change for the BA56 on 15 Jan with an A380 replacing the scheduled A350. Am disappointed as both my flights now have seen the A350 replaced, with the knackered 77J on the outbound and now 380 on the inbound so old CW both ways. Thought it worth a mention as suggests possibly further 380s returning to service in January. Fingers crossed the 380 replaces the 77J - can live in hope…

Similarly, our BA105/BA104 flights in February have both just switched from A350 Club Suite to A380 Club World! BA must be taking a lot of bookings for Dubai. It’s a BA Holidays booking so not that easy to look at upgrades.

Interestingly just received an email bumping us from F on BA55 to CW on BA57 later on the same day (February 2022). The BA55 flight still seems operational and with seat availability so not sure why the change happened.
