Maybe the HHA system was being abused? I once had the MIL in ours and there's no way I'd have her staying with us. Still got Molly the Jack Russel in it though.

Maybe they are doing an audit to ensure everyone in the HHA meets the requirements i.e same home address.

Could this be some sort of data migration from a legacy BA system to AGL?

Dropping a major function for 6 weeks with 6 days notice doesn't sound very 'planned' to me. Given the out of the blue nature of this and the seeming need for 6 weeks to 'improve' the HHA functionality, I'm surprised that the IT team thinks they can 'turn off' HHA administration in such a short space of time.

Sounds like they need to migrate from an unpatched IIS 4 server in a hurry

Surely it's no coincidence that there is currently difficulty in obtaining petrol/diesel in the UK, so I can only assume that the BA HHA system doesn't run on A1 and they are having to dismantle and rebuild it with newer tech. Perhaps CO2. Oh, scrap that. Something else.

I don't fly BA much but they are in my OneWorld world so chiming in... what is the purpose of a Household account? Is it possible, to be optimistic, that they, and perhaps others, are about to do some blanket extensions/benefits/rollouts and once announced, they don't want people trying to add fake family members / friends... or am I completely off my rocker.

I don't believe here in the USA I have connected my airline loyalty programs to any family members, roommates or otherwise lol.

They need a staging server where they develop and test their changes then they just need to use a few hours to migrate the tested upgrades from the staging server to the live servers. It's not rocket science.
No it’s plane science.
