Checking e-ticket status

I have an Avios partner reward booking for some Finnair flights. Ticket issued by BA 125.

One of the flights was cancelled by Finnair and BA have kindly auto-rebooked to a later flight, all good so far.

I had to call BA to accept the changes as MMB was not allowing this (presumably because its a partner reward booking. Email received with new e-ticket showing full itinerary and new flight. Again all good.

My only concern is that in BA app the e-ticket number is not showing against the changes flight. The other flights on the booking do have the ticket number against them. Is this an issue or just a minor BA app glitch? I have tried logging out and back into App to refresh but same result.

It sounds like a glitch if the re-issuing email had a new 125 number in it. That would stop me from getting concerned and personally I would only call if OLCI did not work. You could call just for reassurance, the only problem is that if it actually is not ticketed then the contact centre agents aren't usually allowed to intervene unti a day or two from departure for commercial tickets, so that kind of just adds to the frustratrion. It is different with Avios redemptions on partners, since they have to be prioritised but occasionally they get put in the wrong queue.

Thanks CWS. Hadnt thought of checking the e-ticket numbers. In fact these are exactly the same as in the original email received when I booked the flights back in June. This leads me to think that the agent I spoke to today simply sent a confirmation email rather than actually reissuing the tickets? Would it be normal to get new ticket numbers when one flight in a booking has changed?

If you are flying between the same pair of airports and there isn't a fundamental change to taxes / fees involved, then the tickets may get revalidated rather than re-issued. And revalidation keeps the ticket number. So it may be OK.
