CCR T5 Re-opened 1 Sept

Morning all

I report as FT's intrepid correspondent to confirm that the CCR has almost fully reopened this morning... well, until 14:00 ish each day.

Apparently I am the 4th guest back in.

No magic door yet (TFW security wasn’t open) but there is a sleeping pod room in place of the boardroom.

No cabanas yet apparently and toilets unfortunately not refurbished. However the terrace is lovely :)

What is the food offering?

I've been pretty satisfied with my recently earned access to the F lounge, but that does look exceptionally nice! Another thing to aim for now, if only to check out that nose cone up close...

Only until 14:00. Oh dear. I thought I'd be able to use it tomorrow from about 15:00 ....

Is the dining room open? Does it still have a separate menu? (Or have they just gone with one menu for the whole CCR now? And yes I know you could order from the dining menu or the lounge menu wherever you sat, but just curious if they still have two menus)

Very nice. I was on the terrace last Friday. Looking forward to trying out the re-opened CCR soon.

Mrs B not going to be happy her/our favourite sofas gone from the CCR Terrace always preferred to sit on the multi-coloured sofas at either end of the Terrace . Whether we will get to try out the new seating is still open to conjecture due to flight timings and possible cancellations for our trips in November and January.

Cabanas will not reopen

You First responded to my request for a Cabana reservation at the end of September "The Cabanas will not be reopening as they are due to be replaced with the 'Forty Winks' Lounge sleep pods."

Not looking forward to a 5 1/2 hour connection to MUC after a transatlantic without a cabana after BA pruned down the September LHR-MUC schedule further! Also bad if the CCR is still closing at 14:00 then since my new connection doesn't depart until 16:30.

My outbound journey also now requires an overnight at LHR due to BA having cancelled both morning MUC to LHR flights that would have same day connected. BA has not been a very attractive transatlantic option the last year for those of us not living in the UK!

Yes dining room is open as normal - only a breakfast menu this morning when I was in the CCR - I didn't sit in the dining area but I doubt that the menu was any different.

At least you will be in GF at worst and that lounge also has the sleep pods. So maybe not a cabana but you should still get some sleep!

I was asked if I wanted to be the first passenger to use the sleep pods in the CCR but I worried that I would still be there if I had :D

With no cabanas, what's the showers situation like now? Have they increased the number by the spa, or just closed that space off?

The Concorde Room should remain open until 15:00, after that passengers will be directed over to the Concorde Terrace in the First Lounge.

Access to the CCR now includes passengers flying First on AA as well as Concierge Key card holders.

I think the 14:00 time mentioned may be being confused with the Arrivals Lounge, the Arrivals Lounge is open daily from 05:00 to 14:00 and the CCR from 05:00 to 15:00. The CCT will remain open until 22:30.

Good to see the arrivals lounge has reopened. I missed that update.

Excellent news, and pleased for all you CCR users. Pleased for we humble Golds too … perhaps there will be a few more seats available for us! 😀

15:00 doesn't help me either - I would be arriving at 15:00 and staying until about 16:25
