Unless you need the voucher today, why not maintain the pretense that you are booking a few holidays speculatively due to the promo and then changing your mind a few weeks later?

The difference could be important if BA later decide that some of us pushed this promo too far.

Sofia flights not until mid-May 2022 so hopefully will be clear by then. If not I will take e-voucher refund for full cash equivalent amount.

Your other problem with SOF right now, is that UK residents are banned from entering Bulgaria. Worth a punt though, if your flights are well into 2022.

A great use of 5000 ish orphan Avios on my dad’s account to get £100 off flights to Pisa next Easter. £50 each. Good times!

Some of us may have just done that. 😜

Who in BA will track all of this to come back on you? they have no staff and need the £££ influx - they have also reduced their Avios liability and filled some seats they may not have otherwise

And it died at exactly 00:00! I tried to get a booking in right at midnight and it was showing me GBP 405 off for 86,850 Avios... no thank you.

My final booking was made just a few minutes before midnight and payment was processed at exactly 00:00 on the dot. Over the past 24hrs I have converted nearly 50K Avios into almost £1000 worth of evouchers, plus a small outlay of cash, around £200.

How did you get the cash outlay so low?
50k = £1000 I assume you swapped 5,000 avios for £100 10 times.
I couldn't find a fare below £150 that would allow the full 5,000, so I make it a £500 cash outlay - interested as to how you did it - for next time!

JER to LON was available for £57,60 on many dates. The taxes were £7,60 and base fare £50. Booking that for 9 people was the most optimal method.

Correct. I booked several £59 fares on that route, using 10,000 Avios for a £200 discount for 4 pax on each booking. My final booking I used 2500 Avios for a £50 discount. Jersey has been a lifeline for cheap fares and zero APD, who remembers the sub £700 business class fares to Hawaii ex-JER at Christmas in 2014? What a bargain! Missing Hawaii...

Why 4 on each rather than 9 if you’re making several of them?

I was considering making smaller bookings so that I’d be able to use multiple vouchers AND pay some balance on my CSR to get delay/cancellation/luggage coverage but I was running short on time.

I guess I could break the vouchers into smaller denominations by making and cancelling some other bookings… but so I think risk ending up with a FTV instead of an e-voucher?

Only 5 times. Excluding cash, I redeemed 5 x 5,000 Avios = 25,000 Avios. Banked 5 x £100 (£500) in evouchers. 1 x 2000 Avios = £40 evoucher.

2 x 10,000 Avios = 2 x £200 (£400) evouchers
1 x 2500 Avios = £50 evoucher

Total 49,500 Avios = £990 in evouchers

Just wanted smaller denominations of evouchers I guess...I will probably use them all for European bookings
