Loads on GLA-LHR-GLA

Can anyone give information about how busy the GLA-LHR-GLA flights are at the moment?

Generally full or fairly full flights on the whole, ditto EDI but slightly less so.

Over bank holiday weekend they were rammed. Still a skinny schedule with less early / late rotations and so loads are high. What’s your query relating to?

I don't believe it is, I'm flying end of next week. Such a shame.

It's sad that they haven't opened it up yet - but i don't see it changing before the end of the month, if i'm being honest. While I know that the majority of the flights which are running from Glasgow are carrying good loads, they still don't have the frequency for LHR, LCY or LGW traffic to justify it. Will be interested to see if it's open ahead of the short-term GLA-BHD route they are running in August or not (first flight is on the 2nd, but leaves early evening), but like most other things - until there is more connecting traffic for flights onwards to US, etc, I don't think they are going to justify the cost (to them) of reopening the lounge. I'm not seeing more than 5 flights a day to LHR through August, and only a single LCY and LGW flight each day for most of that as well.

i'd be happy even if they reopened it without any hot food options - drinks and snacks (crisps/coffees/biscuits) would be fine as an interim measure, and surely would be easy enough to manage with minimal staff. However, i think this is 3rd party managed (others on here can correct me), so it's likely viewed by BA as a straight "money-out-the-door" expense they don't want right now.

I've done a few GLA-LHRs in the last couple of weeks and every flight has been full or almost full.

It's believed that the GLA lounge will open towards the end of the month.

GLA is very quite right now with only a handful of lights operating I flew to LHR on Saturday. Security took seconds but there is only one bar/restaurant open airside - the Beardmore. At least boarding was handled well with both front and rear doors being used. When I flew up from LHR, Club passengers were the last to board which meant finding an overhead luggage place was hard - especially if you are in the front row. No sign of the BA lounge reopening.
