BA 40 PCR test ?

Sean Doyle has just told Sky News that BA has today made a 40 PCR test available. Does anyone know anything about this ?

BA have numerous different discounted deals with suppliers, it is an overly complex mess at the moment. The latest Randox PCR is 60 and there is a BA discount code for 50% off so assuming that is still valid that would be 30. Details of all the deals are on https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb.../covid19-tests

Just to be clear, I am familiar with the BA discounts page, but it does not appear to have changed recently and Doyle said very specifically that the deal was being offered as from today. There is also nothing on that page that matches 40.

As noted above, the Randox discount does not actually take the price down below 60 if one tries to use it (and possibly never did from reports that I have read). In any event, Randox have such terrible reviews that I question why BA should be promoting them at all.

My partner has used Randox twice, attending their clinic near Liverpool Street in London rather than a postal test, and both times results have been received within the advertised timescales.

A minor point - the site says they use Royal Mail Special Delivery. They don't. Even the picture shows they used Tracked 24 which is a different service. ie. it's not a guaranteed or timed delivery as Special Delivery is. It's the next best thing though.

I think they mean the test kit will be sent to you via SD, but you're right the sample return packaging is 24.

You might be right. Problem with that is that, if no-one's in to accept the item, it'll get taken back to the depot if sent SD. Tracked 24 kits can slot straight through *most* letterboxes. It's the service the Government / NHS use for kits.

I'm only saying this so that, if anyone orders from them, they know to make sure someone's at the delivery address to accept the item on the day of delivery if it is sent SD.

Its not just the delivery to you you need to plan for - you have to get it back to them before they give you the result, however they can (and no doubt will) hide behind their statement "We guarantee to provide test results within 24 hours of receiving the sample, however we are unable to take responsibility for any delay in delivery of the sample caused by Royal Mail"

Dont leave it to the last moment.
