Insurance help
I wonder if anyone can help please. We have a BA booking to an Amber destination in a couple of weeks but are having a problem finding travel medical insurance for the trip to the Caribbean which covers pre existing medical conditions AND travel against foreign office advice. Unfortunately I had a mild heart attack a few months ago, now in a good state of health. You can get cover for one or the other but not both it seems.

You can also try to find out whether there is a local insurance broker willing to arrange it. Some of the UK oriented islands still have the sort of old-style local insurance broker that has more or less died out in the UK. They can be relatively inexpensive since the hospitals locally have a known cost basis.

Am off to Bermuda shortly and looking to use Battleface as they seem to cover travel to Amber/Non Govt approved destinations.
However, one of our party is over 59 and I noticed in the Battleface restrictions that they won't cover over 59's for Covid:
We also provide cover for emergency medical expenses caused by or resulting from COVID-19 under our standard £5,000,000 limit. The COVID-19 cover is available on all policies for travellers up to the age of 59 or under. Anyone above 59 - 74 will remain covered for illness and accidents. Travellers between the ages of 75-79 our emergency medical benefits operate for accidents only.
We have all been double jabbed so not overly concerned but would be better if all eventualities were covered for all.
