I thought rugby players could handle a spot of rain

Until a certain point. Usually standing water is no-no, there have been cases of near-drownings in puddles at the bottom of rucks!

When I played rugby, a considerable number of decades ago, there were occasions where we won the toss and chose to play with the tide. But there is nothing quite so miserable as driving rain on your back when it's blowing a gale and you're losing 18-4 (as it was in old money). I still have nightmares about wintergreen infused steam in the scrums.

Hi all,

Has there been any news on this route reappearing for the 2022 season, or is it looking unlikely?

It would be very handy for a wedding we’re off to, so I have everything crossed 😀

Many thanks,

Funny you should ask, BA just announced the other day that LCY-GCI would be returning in S22 - 20th June to 2nd September I believe.

EDI-GCI won’t be returning though.

Thanks both, that's a shame but not all that surprising I guess.

Loganair it is

Looks like the GCI/EDI route is back on again for summer 2022 - at least on Saturdays - oh what it is to be connected to the mother country via a real airline again!

Eastern Airways are currently flying SOU-DUB on Mondays, Thursday, Fridays and Sundays with an ATR72

Maybe BA saw the price that they're selling it for and decided that they wanted some of the action

After the excitement of flying the inaugural last year, I found Guernsey Airport a bit of a:shambles in handling this flight as it is the only flight out of Guernsey with a business cabin

They had 2 check in deslks , one marked Club Europe but only room for one queue

You can’t check in on line as Aurigny doesn’t have FLY

When calling to board they just called by row number from back to front . There is no reference to priority boarding on the till receipt type boarding card . The departure area is essentially a scrum with multiple queues forming around the desk

The flight was 3 1/2 hours late today (due to BA)

Part of this was worsened by Guernsey not utilising their stands very efficiently so the delayed flight had to wait to enter the apron

Then we had a further half hour to wait whilst they had to rationalise the passenger count

We also over heard the captain saying he had emailed the flight plan three times !

And don’t mention the aggressive guy on the security boarding pass check…..

Once on board it was lovely; with a great flight and views and champagne ….

Despite all these observations ; there were only 66 on board

I fear BA and Guernsey haven’t bonded!
