Complaint about BA Branding - who do I contact?

The BA logo being presented in multiple formats really ****** me off. You have the one we all see on their aircraft and then a web and print version (of which there are multiple).

The first image from the aircraft has various white and black dots to give a waving effect. I can understand not wanting dots on the web and print version but don't change the white altogether. The aircraft has a hard transition from red to blue. The other versions have an ugly white bar between them. The other version could also do with the grey shadowing to complete them. Then there is a third version printed around T5 without any white, any shadowing and has a hard border between the blue and red. The shape is also slightly different.

Why can't they be consistent? It's embarrassing for BAEC members to be subject to the constant failures of the marketing and branding team.

I'm seriously thinking of changing my airline of travel to one with consistent branding!

Yes! BAEC members are the loyal customers who return to the airline, albeit it usually for the points, and invest a lot of time, emotion and money into the airline. It's difficult to remain positive and promote the airline to family and friends when it can't even ensure coherent branding. Even Qatar Airways, with a more complex logo, has consistency. Even Allegiant, the ultra-low cost airline, with it's very specific orange to yellow fade can manage it.

This must be a wind-up. Hehe. Surely nobody invests emotion into an airline or considers switching to a different one and flying convoluted routings due to a lack of grey shadowing in its livery or the presence of a hard border between blue and red.

:)

Changing airline because of branding 😱 wow.

There is a very detailed, 147 page document of brand guidelines which dictates what logo’s can be used, when and where.

Even pre and post Check-In the logos can differ slightly. There is a reasoning behind it all.

Both of the logos you have mentioned are acceptable. Sometimes the white ‘fade’ isn’t possible and hence it has to be full colour.

The speedmarque on the aircraft is in fact the old style, with the fading in the red section instead of the blue section, this is the only area this logo should ever be used.

You must not have a lot of stress in your life if this concerns you..

Good grief, please someone tell me this is a joke?
Many companies have strict guidelines with multiple application options for their logos (mine included) depending on backgrounds, colours, etc - and that includes BA as TCX69 rightly says..

Actually, having worked in branding, I'd say that BA does a pretty good job with their branding applications and styles. A logo will have to be modified here and there to best fit the media it is placed on, and so far BA's done a great job with this regard. An aircraft is obviously a very different surface compared to a piece of paper or a digital screen, hence BA's branding choices is logical. The most confusing airline in terms of branding to me has probably got to be Malaysia Airlines which has been very inconsistent over the years.

*chuckles

As I lay here awake waaaaay too early on a sunday morning trying to work out how I’m going to make my return rail journey from the West Country to Berkshire when GWR have withdrawn most of their long distance trains this thread has given me something to chuckle about.

Maybe I should focus more on why the branding on the different types of GWR trains is slightly different rather than the fact that the trains aren’t running at all at the moment!

Though not really - most companies have similar branding and logo guidelines.

147 pages of them? Reminds me of debretts, in fact I read in as if it was from debretts!
