Elemis Spa Closing Permanently in All Lounges
Am I missing it, or has no one opened a thread on this yet? See: https://www.turningleftforless.com/b...ial-iata-pass/
What will BA do with the existing space?

Hi,
No , you are the first. Congratulations on finding this news.
Personally, it is a slight disappointment but given the difficulties some times in getting a treatment and them only lasting 15 minutes it is not the greatest loss.
At least the showers are being kept.
Regards

my first instinct is "what a bummer" but then again i manage an appointment maybe 5% of the time. but THANK GOODNESS the showers remain, that is something i use far more often than anything.

Im hopeful and not surprised. Not surprised due to Covid rules and thats not going away.
Hopeful because I think the lounges at T5 need a full refurb and partnerships. Hopefully thats on the roadmap in the next 5 years.

Oh no. This is a real shame. I always loved the experience, and the feeling of triumph whenever I managed to bag an appointment (tho it was always easier at JFK and the B and Arrivals lounges).
Another CW and GCH enhancement...

Total gimmick that really didn’t matter to the fliers who actually pad the bottom line and pay the bills. I’m one of those fliers and I used it once. Curious if they will use the space in the lounges for something more productive in the long run (when lounge overcrowding becomes a thing again).

The only thing I ever used there was the showers, so as long as I can still manage one of those, no problems at all. I hope they will use the space to expand one of the lounges or do something more interesting - really felt the spa itself was worthless.

I have less than no interest in using a spa, at any time but especially at an airport, so I'll get over this quite quickly. I do hope though that they use the closures as an opportunity to improve the showers.

It was on its way out when they stopped using their products in the amenity kits. I managed to use it a few times, some massages were better than others but if the lounge is just expanded then I think this is a loss.

leave the showers alone, close off the remaining spa area and install proper hvac machinery to properly cool the south lounges!
problem solved wrt space utilization!
