F Redemption Inventory
The USA availability is looking extremely scarce currently.
Any knowledge on when some could be released? Club is as plentiful as I can remember seeing....

My hunch is they are holding it back given the number of aircraft subs right now and the fact that routes that used to reliably have F are having F come on and go off as travel restarts in fits and starts. And for the reliable F contender, JFK - my guess is they would rather try and sell 8 or 16 seats right now given the limited frequency and the fact there is still paid F demand in this climate.

I have noticed the same thing to/from IAD for trips in September, October, and December. Only the inbound in December had F availability on the A380, otherwise nothing. I have an excessive number of Chase UR points that I would love to use for UuA from CW to F.

I have been looking for a while to try use my 2x 241, but F redemptions are as rare as hens teeth, especially to the West Coast. Plenty of J available. I put it down to a reduction in F seats overall, plus uncertainty around which airframe may fulfil the flight. That said I did find 2xF returns to JNB which would cover a couple of the Lions games, which is surprising. Now hoping it all happens!

I was having similar thoughts about how F reward seats are being allocated at the moment, specifically JFK-LHR. I am waiting for some medical news on a family member in the UK and I'm expecting to make a short notice trip at some point. It seems that there is only one flight a day at the moment (BA182) and that goes up to two flights on May 24 (BA112 and BA182) and three flights from June 16th (BA112,176,182) barring any cancellations.
I have been keeping an eye on F availability on Reward Flight Finder, sometimes a seat will appear for day-of or next-day travel. At the moment it shows some single F reward seats in July and August. I'm not sure if that is due to all the reward seats having been taken or if they just have not been released. A Club Suite would be no hardship but given taxes are the same for F vs J I would be happy to spend the extra Avios to get an F seat.
As noted above, for J right I seem spoilt for choice on redemptions. If the US ends up on UK green list post May 17th what is the groups opinion on reward availability reverting to 'normal'.

I’ve been watching flights to ORD, as I have a cash booking in F I’d rather turn into a voucher and use my Avios and a soon to expire 2-4-1, as the TPs will be of no value to me, given the further status extension.
Seen the odd single F seat come and go, but never two. Even managed to talk the DW to coming back in J from BOS in case I can’t get both to align.

I have noticed during the past few years that First reward inventory zeros out while BA runs fare sales. There is a UK sale running at the moment which I believe ends tomorrow.
That said, there will be a sizeable block of redemptions booked during the past 12 months which have been rebooked for future travel as a result of flight cancellations. My own First redemptions were rebooked into revenue inventory.

With the loss of 14F 744s as well as 14F cabins going to 8F and the A380s parked I wonder what the total percent drop of F available seats is? Quite a lot I imagine. I think we shall see a lot less F to the USA going forwards, and therefore a lot less Reward space.

By recovery do you mean if 10% of the global population dies of COVID or not? Because otherwise I bet you a very large amount of money BA is still operating F on e.g. LHR-JFK in a few years’ time whatever the economic recovery looks like.

I also am watching IAD availability like a hawk for a UuA, having snagged a good Club price (plus car) a few months ago. They've still got two flights scheduled on both my outbound and return dates but aside from a lonely F redemption (on the outbound I didn't want to take), nada. I've assumed it's either because a sale has been running, or they're not sure if both flights will operate on the day and want to minimize downgrades. F available for sale for cash on both flights on both dates.
