Transiting Thru LHR....help.

I am flying from MAD to ORD thru LHR. I would like to ask this community if there are any potential issues?

Would be easy? Would there be issues?

im a little nervous. This would be in April.

thanks

Ask in late March. The situation is for ever changing. Can change by the hour.
What airlines? (Noted you asked in the BA forum)
Both flight on the same ticket or 2 separate tickers MAD-LHR & LHR-ORD
Passport of which country?

OP's other thread on this trip---> ORD to MAD,... where to transit DFW or LHR?

Run your trip through TIMATIC. Any limitations on transit will require you to enter your citizenship and residency as well as information about your trip.

Unless there is something about that which is problematic, there are no other particular concerns right now.

As with all travel, you should keep checking TIMATIC up to and including the day of travel in case there are changes.

Are you concerned mainly about the mechanics of transiting at LHR -- changing terminals, reclearing security, walking distances, lounges -- or are your concerns specifically related to Covid and the complications an LHR transit might create?

Both Iberia and BA use terminal 5, which simplifies things, but you will still have to go through a Flight Connections process where your onward boarding pass is checked and you reclear security. Not difficult. I'd have to say my worst LHR connection was probably less complicated than my best connection at MAD.

With respect to Covid, it's too soon to predict the situation in April. I doubt an LHR connection will make things easier when you enter the US.
